Ultra and MFC 101 in Alaska

Hey Larry, I was gigging my Axe-FX in Alaska until last year, when I moved to Michigan. I have bought lots of gear at Mammoth Music in Anchorage. Have a great clinic! And like Scott said, if you make it to SE Michigan, let us know. Love to hear you play and talk gear with you.

Should i get an axe fx? Enlighten me please.

The fact is that keeping the amp sims on, even when using a tube power amp, gives you more tonal options. More options is better. I don't know why anyone wouldn't want that. You make the mistake of assuming that running the Axe power amp sims into a tube power amp will have the same effect as...

Should i get an axe fx? Enlighten me please.

Not true. You'll rob yourself of a lot of the Axe's capabilities if you do that. Take it from a guy that's been running the Axe into a tube power amp for 2 1/2 years now - you will do yourself and your tone a real disservice if you disable the power amp sims. They offer some HUGE tone shaping...

Line 6 G30 Wireless Guitar Transmitter

The G series is definitely NOT a repackaged X2. I own both, and can verify this. Line 6 bought the X2 and sold it under that name for a few years. The Relay (or G) series are a significant improvement over the X2, in quality of construction, features, and technology.

Don't listen to them! I like the plastic on my sofa  Seriously, though, it's totally cool to leave the plastic cover on the screen. I'm glad to hear you still have it on your Axe. Don't yield to the Fractal peer pressure!

Definitely. Get some perspective, people, and stop acting like spoiled children. "I'm entitled to this. Cliff owes me that." Cliff doesn't owe you a thing. Maybe some on this forum have developed this 'entitlement mentality' because we get all these free firmware upgrades, etc, that Cliff...

Yea, and it's not just shipping. It's sending out notification emails in batches, in order. Then waiting for those people to respond, and then to eventually pay for the MFC, and then shipping that batch out. And then starting over with the next batch of people. And how many are on the...

MFC-101 MIDI Foot Controller Product Info & Availability

I'm on the waiting list, but I have no idea how far down. Is there any way to estimate when they will finish fulfilling the waiting list? Does this announcement today mean they have already produced enough units to satisfy the wait list? *hoping* :|
  19. G

    MFC 101 update ?

I totally agree. I am very glad I knew the controller was coming. I've been getting by with my MidiMate, but it will be nice to have a fully functional unit to pair with the Axe.

Where are you on the Fractal waiting list?? Who's on first?

Re: Where are you on the Fractal waiting list?? Who's on fi I emailed them again yesterday, and finally got a response. They said I'm on the list. Where on the list is anyone's guess, but at least I'm on there.

Re: Where are you on the Fractal waiting list?? Who's on fi Same here. I've emailed Fractal many times over the past year, trying to get on the list. Never got a response from them. I guess they just don't want me to have one of their foot controllers.

QSC K12 or Atomic powered wedge?

Here's a question - what don't you like about the 2:90? I'm running my Axe through one, into a 4x12, and I really like it. Especially with the 2:90's footswitch. I've tried other power amps, and some FRFR solutions, but in the end, I like the feel and tone of the 2:90 best.

Power amp sim question for axe-fx with a tube power amp

IME, it's always better to have the power amp sims ON when using a tube power amp with the Axe. I've used Mesa, Marshall, and Engl tube power amps with the Axe over the past 2 years, and it gives you so many more tone tools to work with. I don't see any down side to it at all.

    Four Space Rack?

I have used a tube power amp with the Axe for most of the past two years. I worry about the same thing, so I like the Mesa amps with the PTs at the back of the amp, aligned horizontally. Keeps the direct heat away from the Axe. After awhile, I moved from a 1u (20/20) to a 2u (2:90), so I had...

    Quick question on noise

Ooooh, this sounds like the adjustment I need! I've recently gone high gain with my band, and as I created new patches, the noise was overwhelming. I was setting the Master up high, to get a thick sound. But if I can get the same effect by tweaking the amp EQ, or adding an EQ block, I'll...

Want to go wireless, any suggestions?

I use an X2, and I've got a G50 on order. My X2 rack unit sometimes can't make it through a 4-5 set gig without a battery replacement. To a gigging musician, without an onstage guitar tech, this is a big deal. I've heard the G50 is better with batteries, so we'll see when it gets here. I do...

Axe fx with ENGL tube poweramp E 850/100

Well that helps! Congratulations on having the endorsement from Engl. They make some fantastic gear. Just make sure you get a stereo footswitch for the poweramp so you can take advantage (on stage) of the switcheable volume and Presence/Depth options. Good luck!

Axe fx with ENGL tube poweramp E 850/100

I own an E850, and it's a killer power amp. I think you will love it with your Axe. There are less expensive amps out there, but you certainly won't be upset with the Engl.

Well, I appreciate your suggestion. But after 30 years of playing guitar and wah, I think I've exhausted most of what I'll be able to get out of it  I'm sure it's my own limited talent, but it's pretty well established. The auto wah's I've tried (about 10 of them) can do some cool...

Need a pedal to back up my Axe-FX. Suggestions please...

My Axe is my primary gig rig, and has been since mid 2008. I use a tube head and pedalboard as a back up, but I can't find an auto wah that comes anywhere close to doing what the Axe's does. I need a pedal that does an automatic sweep of the wah's range, with contols on rate, intensity, etc...

Axe Fx with Mesa Boogie 2:90

The 2:90 is a great powereamp for use with the Axe. Definitely use the power amp sims. I've used a 20/20, several SS amps, and now I use the 2:90 through a 4x12. It sounds really good.

I need a good lead boost CC. Suggestions wanted (please!)

I need a good lead boost CC. Suggestions wanted (please!)

Thanks for the suggestions. I am leaning toward an EQ (thanks for the PEQ suggestion, Ian), but I'm open to anything that has worked for you guys. I need a good lead boost CC. Suggestions wanted (please!)

Hi fellow Fractarians, I've tried several dirt boxes for lead boosts (CC/stompbox) on my dirty patches, but even with the distortion on zero, they all make the tone too muddy. I'm running them after the amp and effects. I've considered just using an EQ, with maybe a lower curve increase to...

7.04 CORNFORD is yummy and filling

Re: the Cornford is yummy and filling Hunter, I have the same tendency to tweak most sims until they sound like me. I have really had to fight it, because the Axe has such great amp tones, I force myself to limit the tweaking so I can play with these great patches as is. Cliff rocks!
