Warmoth guitar bodies - top wood options?

I have an old one. Like 1994 neck that may be what they call now 'vintage modern' with no 'heel adjust' . It's better. I have one left of the heel adjust. I think that is a 2 way truss rod. It has a wide floyd R4 with an EVH back profile. The feel of that neck is so cool...but again...

Warmoth guitar bodies - top wood options?

I've bought maybe 3 necks with the 'modern' truss. They seem heavy and non-resonant. And I hate that. I am all about better technology for guitars. I want a neck that is easier to adjust and is more precise. But don't take my word for it. It's just my limited experience. It's kinda...

How to achieve a more enjoyable headphone experience?

There's a lot of great info in this thread. I've found that when I have a truly good sound going... my cheapest headphones sound great and inspiring. So much so that I use them to check my tones. I remember years of having what I thought was a good sound, and suffering in IEM. It was me...

    Axe-FX III vs. Axe-FX II XL+

I got my 2 in 2014 (i think). It sits 3 feet away from my 3. I play them both regularly. The 2 still sounds great, but it does not sound 'better' than the 3 by any stretch of opinion or imagination. OP simply needs more time on the 3.

MIDI question coming from Digitech 2101 to Axe FX 3

I believe the Axe can 'ignore redundant PC commands' or some such...meaning that you can send the scene as a CC along with the PC and if the preset is the same, then only the scene will change. I'm an idiot, so I have a FC-12 AND a FCB connected to my AXE and I use the FCB to simply send scene...

Im sure im kicking a dead horse here...

It's funny. In 5+ years with the Axe3... Leon's presets are the ONLY ones that sound exactly like what I hear on the demos. I reckon its that I use similar guitars/pickups and have a similar style. If i may be so bold.

Power Amp Modeling Off: Speaker Damage?

Common speaker damage is from overheating the voice coil. A short burst wont do that IIRC. Enormous excursion might damage stuff, but guitar speakers are tough to do that to. Listen to the speakers at normal level, and if they sound ok, they probably are ok.

Fryette vs Tube head as power amp

Nobody is talking about the impedance curves. Are they stacked when you use a tube power amp on top of the Axe with power amp modelling on? I think so. Anyways... I run 2 4x12s with an older Crown power amp that's like 300 watts a channel. Wallop.

    Just discovered the Plexis...what's next?

I was messing with my Axe2 last night and stumbled on the Euro Blue. Put the YA Mesa V30 cab on it. I was really stoked at how punchy and fat it sounded. Dialed up the same combo on the 3 and am thrilled with this model. The presets never agreed with me...but turn the mids down a hair...

Not a Bug Solved. Not a bug! Tuner works improperly when the unit is externally clocked to 48kHz with firmware 29.01

As a layman, I'd wonder how a developer would go about determining this. In the world of microcontrollers, the clock is THE thing. It drives the logic through the gates. I guess you could compare the external clock to the internal clock somehow... but could you do it in software? I'm...

How to practically level presets for Live Playing

I agree with Moke here. Playing along with tracks, can give you lots of perspective on your patches. It's close to what you will experience live...or at least a step closer. Lots can be accomplished with the mids and getting control of the low end.
