Curious about the durability, as thats not something I had heard before. I do not mind if the finish gets scratched, I'm more concerned with it straight up breaking (like the DXR10). As I mentioned in my post, I'm using it for a live stage monitor, not a backline. the ASC12 is not really ideal...

Trying to Make This Work

Wait. Why would you need to switch presets for this? Unless the amp tones are vastly different for all 3, you should be able to handle them all within a single preset and just scene swap. Worst case is the clean requires an x/y on the amp to get the right tone.

URGENT - 4 day recording session - Master volume snapped off

If you plan on replacing the pot anyways, perhaps get it set where you want it and drop a tiny bit of superglue onto the broken part. It'll probably keep it from moving anymore. Just be extremely careful not to get it on anything else.

It may work, but it's certainly not optimal. You're going from an unbalanced with Humbuster to a balanced input. The CLR has combo connectors, there's no reason to not just use a regular guitar cable.

Do not use a TRS to XLR cable on out 2. Just use a regular guitar cable. The OUT 2 jack is a Humbuster and not wired for a regular TRS/XLR configuration.

The Hum that will not die......

If you haven't solved this yet, try connecting your amp and fx8 to the same power strip. That was the problem I was having with mine. Now I just keep a 25ft power cable to follow my snake back to my amp, no more hum.

With my 5150iii, the problem went away when I had my board and amp on the same power circuit. Kind of a pain, but I just got a 25' power cable and ran it back to my amps power block.

Would be nice to be able to set these values at the global level. Right now, I'm having to insert a VOL block in every preset so I have this functionality. I never use the volume pedal to completely mute (thats what the guitar nob is for), but do use to to set a "quiet" level for accompaniment...

Thing is super secure. I cant begin to express how well built it is. For the price, I dont think you can go wrong. I was thinking of getting a temple board with a bag, and it would have cost more than this did after all the plugs and such. A quality road case and board for $300 is steal.

Thanks! The snake is attached to the board. There's enough room in the case to coil the snake (its 30ft long and 1/2" diameter) and power cable on top of the FX8 and close up the lid.

Well. It was a combination of things. The power in my rehearsal space is questionable. After trying other plugs I finally found if I plugged my amp into the same plug as my board, the problem went away. Oddly enough, if I plugged both in by the amp, the problem still existed. So solution...

The only difference between the at home test and the rehearsal area is the wireless unit. Mostly because I forgot to bring the transmitter home. I've used the wireless unit (Line 6 G50) for years without any issues, being that its digital it shouldn't be susceptible to interference like this...

So I spent some time over the weekend setting up all my presets/scenes. I have a noise gate in the loop for when I am on my high gain channel of my amp (EVH 5150iii). I gated fairly aggressively to kill any noise, and it seemed to work fine at home. Fast forward to band rehearsal yesterday...

The inside measutements on the case are 15.5" (39.4cm). To the edge of the board that sits in the case, its 14.5" (36.8cm). Given the depth of the FX8 is about 10" (25.4cm), that should leave a fair amount of room to leave cabling in place.
