I always use it for my stereo presets with two amps. But I also use my Mimiq pedal in front of Input 2 for these presets … sounds massive. Not using it for recording or band rehearsal.

Sound difference between FM3 and Fm9

To compare the two units: use the rear Input 1 on the AxeFX. With the same firmware on both units the sound should be identical.

How Good is the Fractal VH4 Model?

I'm normally a 5150 guy, but the VH4 is since a few months one of my favorites. Channel two is so nice for a slightly dirty clean sound. Channel three for high gain stuff, boosted or just the amp. Love it!

Even the small QSC GX 3 is too overpowered for me :sweatsmile: I use the SD Powerstage 170 at lower volumes and I'm actually quite happy with the right speaker impedance curve in the AxeFX.

I'll probably get a single Elis.8 in the next weeks. I hope it will be loud enough to compete with my drummer (very hard metal hitter). Of course there's still the option to get the second one, but I rather prefer to have a light single cab setup.

Most bass cabs I found also only go down to 40-50 Hz, but yea, the 70 Hz cut off of the Elis.8 is probably too much for a good low end. But if the speaker of the Elis.8 survives a low B at louder volumes this would also be fine for me for home practice. I guess if I really play bass in a band...

In Flames and HM2 don't mix. For the typical In Flames Sound just use the 5150 Block Letter Lead channel and 5150 Mk2 Crunch Channel in parallel with V30 IRs with Fredman technique.

I found the sound to be a lot harsher in every preset. Turning up the Speaker Drive at 2 fixed it. But the percieved change in sound must have been my imagination (also I didn't do a direct comparison to 19.08).

Why do you not just use Input 2 L/R for your stereo board? This seems a lot easier to me. I also use two large pedalboards with my AxeFX, but I have them both in the FX Loops of the AxeFX (In/Outs 3 & 4). This is also a nice option to place virtual effects in front of your pedalboard.

Wireless connection options for android/windows

I just ordered the CME Widi Jack and Master. So it is confirmed safe to run the CME Widi Jack with USB power attached with the FM3? So it draws all the power from USB instead of the FM3s MIDI connection?

What is you FM3 “backup” for live shows

Due to lack of actually gigging I don't need a backup, but I have a HX Stomp and, even better, an analog pedalboard with an ir-loader and some pedals. Oh, and the AxeFX 3 :tearsofjoy: (but that one never leaves my studiodesk)

Helix update. Stacked snapshots - would be great for the FM3!
