Setting up drive advice required

While not exactly awesome advice, my metal setting came alive with a Rukus or the Shred Dist, and then adjusting the Depth control. I keep the gain lower, but expand the low and some high end.

Roland EV5 expression - can't calibrate full range

Hi - mine does that too. I thought it was just the limitation of the pedal. Mine is a cheapy hex pedal. Anyways, I was hoping the new EV2 might have the full range. As I've found so far, it only does what it does.

FX8 and small amp with no FX loop questions

I use my FX8 into my Matchless Lightning and my JTM45. I just run it in series and sounds great. The FX loop would be nice, but there are also other options too ie some attenuators like the Bad Cat or the Fryette have a loop.

Which OD to crunchify a clean channel?

I really like the zen drive, or the 3 knob Tube Driver. For my metal tones, I've been reaching for the shred distortion from the tip by manxmusician in a previous quote. Works great!!

Do you supplement with external pedals?

I am experimenting with my Klon KTR as last in the chain. So far so good, have the gain set to almost none and just use it as a "more of' pedal/boost.

FX8 FREEZING RANDOMLY

Mine usually does if I have 2 blocks set up with 4 different verbs (x/y). I dont always have them on, but have the 8 blocks filled up with stuff.

two drives come on

Hi - the two drives come on, when I select the scene, and then hit either of the drive buttons. I cant seem to just turn one or the other on. Will work on it tonight when I get home!

two drives come on

Hi - Im a noob, but learning. I've created a patch, but 2 drives come on. In my ax editor, it doesnt show them as engaged. Is there something obvious that im not getting. I have an fx8, mk1, love it. I also am not very good at matching patches.
