Going Backwards on Axe Exchange

Just purchased a AXE FX 2 XL off ebay. I noticed in the AXE Exchange there isn't a lot of patches to download in the XL pages compared to just the AXE FX 2 pages. Can the XL use the the patches from the AXE FX 2? Thanks Dan
