Axe Fx II XL & Ground Control Pro

The GCP is programmed to reflect the effect states of the Axe (if you're referring to the LEDs displaying on/off status). But that doesn't make sense as to why the preset recalls what was previously engaged regardless of how the preset was designed/saved.

Axe Fx II XL & Ground Control Pro

Hey Guys, I'm currently programming my GCP to work with scenes on the Axe and I've come across a question I need answered. I've already programmed all the parameters and scenes are switching just fine. Only thing is, when I enable a CC on the GCP, say for a delay, on one preset and switch to...

    Axe-Fx in your circle...

Actually I was inspired by my writing partner to get my own. He has an Ultra that he uses and loves, and I wanted to simplify my rig and sound that good. Outside of him and the guitarist from his other band, I'm the only one in my social circle to have one.

"Recto Red Modern" Tryout! New Mix / Song Clip

Awesome job. Loving the atmospheric leads over it all. The main hook reminds me a lot of "Somewhere I Belong" by Linkin Park. Let me know when the full song is done. Cheers, Brandon

What software for creating riffs and songs

Studio One 3 is my go-to DAW. UI is intuitive and allows for a fast-paced work environment (essential for creativity flow). Plenty of useable stock plugins, excellent midi engine, scratchpad, arranger, etc. I'm a recovering Pro-Tools user and Studio One was the perfect replacement. Disclaimer...

    AXE FX or Pedals?...opinions please

Going from lugging 200+ lbs of one good tone to a briefcase of countless perfect tones was pretty neat. No regrets. Cheers, B

    Help Please Ref. FOH

Throw your Axe through the FOH and monitor through a powered speaker. Easiest way. I would recommend one (or even two for stereo) QSC K12s. Excellent reproduction of tone in my experience. Not too pricy either.

How do you all use your AXE live?

In my Axe infancy days, I ran through my Peavey XXX's effects send and used a pedal board (tuner/wah) and Voodoo Lab GCP. Nowadays, after much counsel and deliberation, I run direct to FOH and monitor through the stage wedges with the GCP and a Mission Engineering EP-1 on the floor for...

I'm a huge fan of the color tone. Big deep sweep. Sounds just like the Morley Bad Horsie II it replaced.

ISP Stealth Power Amp / Live sound questions

I used to run my Axe into an amp and cab rather than direct to PA and, while it sounded pretty good, nothing compared to that FRFR clarity. Just remember, the more you put in your chain, the more diluted your signal/tone will be.

    looking for this overdriven tone...

Sounds like a Bogner Ecstasy with a little more chirp. I would start there and tweak. Test it with a similar guitar. Just to be suhr. ;)

Simulating the WOW mode of the George Lynch Dragon wah

I've had some luck using Fractal's 'Color-tone' wah setting for that sound. I prefer it as well. Very deep sweep.

    Temporary boost

Brothers, What is your favorite/the most effective way to temporarily boost output, say for a lead or solo? I'm sure there's a CC for that. Cheers, B *first thread post*

    External Effects

I used to. Signal chain was: Guitar-PW Tuner Pedal-Morley Bad Horsie 2-Axe Fx II XL Then reality set in and I ordered a Mission Engineering EP-1 and used the built-in Axe Fx color tone & Tuner. Since then, life beith good.
