Thanks! I'll do that when I get home. I won't tell you how long it took to get sound through the headphones. Oh, there's an output knob.

Plan to do that tomorrow when my USB B cable arrives, I'm trying to dive through the menus on-device. I at least got some sounds out of the FM9 with minimal swearing.

Firmware version 4.0 on mine, arrived today and I'm wondering what I got myself into. Heh.

    FM9 not allowed?

The closest to this that I've run into is with different gear, but the sound guy wanted my noble DI plugged into a knock-off JDI using the 1/4" out into the DI box and then using the XLR from the DI box to the console. That way we're electrically isolated from each other. Ok, the console was...

    Wish Gallien Krueger 800RB amp

+1 - this is a backline standard in addition to an SVT (covered) or an Aguilar 750/751. I'll get by without it, but it would be a welcome addition

I got an email today with the topic "Your Order Has Been Updated" and I can read the first few characters "An order you recently placed on our website has had its status changed ..." My heart sank. I waited two days to order, because life and I thought it was cancelled. I waited too long. Ugh...

I'd like a few more models, but in reality, at least with other modelers I've had, it always ends up SVT. Just change the gain a little.

Got my invitation on Friday, 2/17 and didn't get around to ordering until today. Super busy on Friday and second guessing myself on Saturday. Isn't this really overkill (I play bass mostly). Sunday, sure it's overkill but you'll look good running an SVT patch. Heh. Ordered. EDIT: I was on the...

Quick question... bass related, but more FM9-specific

Thanks! So, to do it “the right way” (tm) I need the FM-9 or, of course, FX-III. I’ve been YouTubing and was hoping the edit software allowed a demo mode, but it looks like it’s more of just a controller. Understandable. I’ll just be patient and you can laugh at me being on the waitlist as of...

Quick question... bass related, but more FM9-specific

I don't use a fancy setup with a lot of effects but if I want to have two parallel paths, path A with say an SV model and a cab, and path B more of a direct path / channel strip then I need the FM9 to accomplish that because I need the second cab block with null IR to get the channel strip...

    Boot time?

Now the wait continues. I was in 11/1.

    Boot time?

That will be quick enough. In an ideal world, I'd want 2-3 seconds, but 8 is workable. Appreciate the help!!

    Boot time?

Unlikely to get that and probably adds something else that can fail. There was the one time that I forgot my cable and realized just as we started to play. Slightly embarrassing. Heh.

    Boot time?

Nah. Then I'd miss the joys of playing in the heat in the summer and then can't move my fingers at the end of the season in the winter. Keeps you on your toes. Frozen toes.

    Boot time?

I play at NFL football games and we roll stuff onto the field, and start playing seconds later. Or the call from the booth comes down to play "Now!" and I need to be ready. If someone trips over a power cord (happens) I need a quick path to being back in the game. Everything at football games...

    Boot time?

Hi! Was just wondering what the approximate boot time is for the AX8. I'm on the waitlist, but if it's 20 seconds like the Helix, then it's not going to work for my needs. Thanks!!

    Coming Soon

I was hoping it would be soonish since there was an actual pedal in existence, at least one. It would have made my pedalboard really easy for football season, but I may have to suck it up and go with an M9. The best effect unit is the one on your board. Also considered just sucking it up and...

That's what I'm afraid of. The perfect piece of gear is far from perfect if I can't get one. Would love to have one for this football season. Looks like the odds of that happening are quite low.

If I keep checking this thread every ten minutes, it's probably not going to make the FX-8 be released any faster, right?

Exactly what I want. Effects -> Sansamp BDDI or VTDI makes a complete rig for bass. Add a BDDI effect model and I may be able to just use this.

At any given time, my pedalboard easily has $2k of pedals on it that I'm constantly swapping around for this gig or that gig. So far, MultiFX pedals have been a sacrifice in quality. If this can give me quality and convenience, I'm in heaven.

Sorry, first post and all. The full blown AxeFX was just overkill for me, I usually just use one amp - bass player. So I never really looked into Fractal stuff much, but I'm giddy about this!

Holy Crap! I'm a bass player and this is my dream. I have high end basses, amps, cabs and hate using multi-effect pedals that are built to a mass market budget price point rather than building it for reliability, sound, versatility. Out-freaking-stanging!!! Almost afraid to go look at the...
