I've spent time with most every model in the AX8 but I keep coming back to the same two, the Orange Rockerverb and the Cornford. Is there a current analog close to the Cornford MK50 II in today's amp market?

This may not be the answer to your issue but it helped get me up and running quickly, check out Austinbuddy's 700 naked amps pack. There's a bit of a learning curve for importing them that you will need to get over but the patches provide a much better starting point than anything I had tried...

Q10 Firmware for the AX8?

Oh my...that's outstanding. I spent a good chunk of time playing on a BE-50 deluxe a month or so ago and fell in love. That new model might help with my GAS lol. I was damn near ready to sell my PRS, Strat and AX8 to get my hands on that amp.

PRS pickup suggestions

I put a BKP Cold Sweat in the bridge of my '11 Studio and it sounds killer. It's pretty high output and covers all things metal and rock with ease. I would imagine a matched set would be great in your Custom 24. I have an Ibanez '99(?) RG520QS with JB/59's in it, its my most versatile guitar...

AustinBuddy possible Bass Presets for the Ax8 - what do you want to see?

Les Claypool's Sailing the Seas of Cheese tone would be rad Justin Chancellor from Tool, preferably Lateralus era I'm a pretty big fan of Nikki Monninger's tone from the Silversun Pickups Anything close to Cliff era Metallica would be killer, too

'Bay Area Metal Giants Vol.1: Classic Tones' out now! (METALLICA presets) AX8 compatible

What does your process look like for converting these and uploading the cabs to AX8 to make a complete preset? I've managed to make one but its a convoluted process and want to make sure I'm not missing something.

Suggestions on achieving this tone (Carr Artemus)

I played a few Carr amps this weekend at a local shop. The rambler I played in the shop didn't sound anything like what was in the Axe-fx. I'm thinking the difference is probably all in the IR. I might see about a mix of AC30 and Rambler and see where I get. Thanks for the suggestions, all.

My drop tuned guitar doesn't sound great thru Axe II

What amp models are you using? Are you playing into monitors? cab? active pa? I mainly play in the neighborhood of C but my baritone is in B. I typically lower the bass, add a little more mid than normal and sometimes add a tube screamer with the drive at 0 but the level tailored to taste...

Alright 10.06 high gain players - Thunk/Motor Drive - who's using 'em?

Pardon my ignorance to the subject, but I've never touched motor drive on any patch. I've adjusted thunk here and there. What, exactly, is motor drive supposed to be adjusting?

Loading Presets Without Axe-Edit (Windows)

I seem to be encountering an issue with the steps as presented by the original post in this thread. Upon reaching the following step: I cannot make a connection between MIDI-OX Event Port and Axe-Fx II MIDI In. I can make connections any other way but that. Any ideas on what I've done wrong?

Oh I plan to do both, it's necessary for anything like this. 8 seemed fine for what little I messed with it but if it's no better I'll just stick with 9 and move along. Thanks!

Is there an archive of previous firmware versions? I'd like to rollback to the last version of 8 that works with Axe-Edit for the time being. I updated last night when I got my Axe-FX 2 and hadn't checked the forum yet to find the warning about incompatibility. Thanks!
