Front vs Rear Input Noise Floor

with the amp input set to L only, nothing plugged into any input, and no matter how i set input levels, it is impossible to get the rear input to be as quiet as the front input. why? i switch between front and rear input in I/O and the noise level changes drastically. my only reason for...

A Way To Turn OFF the Audio Driver?

is there any way to disable the audio driver of the AFX USB connection while retaining the ability to use axe-edit over usb? i ask because even though audio is turned off in axe-edit, it still hijacks the asio driver occasionally. this requires that i turn the AFX off and back on, then...
