    used antress modern equalizer. Worked like a charm and its free. here is with brighter guitar. It def needed some brightening. Seems a bit much but didnt realize was so extremely dark before.

    I could try using the level knob but I think it effects everything and not just the preamp like a channel volume knob would. The EQ slider comes after the power amp sim cause it eliminates need for eq block after the amp.

    I think you just need to lower the ratio. The attack release and hold have profound effect also. Try the settings I suggest, I also posted a preset in axexhange if you prefer just to load a preset.
