AX8 Firmware Version 10.01

Been a while ( I think I'm on v4.01:eek:). Last time I updated everything went haywire in terms of levels between presets. Is that likely to happen again? Any tips for going such a big jump in firmware?

Glenn DeLaune presets - help with volume boost

Unfortunately the problem is fitting the block. I have a Mission spring loaded pedal which is perfect for flicking on the vol block with the wah. My problem now is to figure out what damage I'll be doing to the presets by removing a block to add the volume, or putting a reverb block in parallel.

Thanks booner. So if the reverb is in parallel does that affect the stereo image only? I imagine if the volume boost and reverb are in parallel it just means the reverb block is not boosted?

Does anyone know if the Glenn DeLaune presets have Scenes? I like using presets with a clean to mean approach but at the very least I'd like to know if there are cleans and heavier scenes within a patch. Can't find anything on his website.

I think I am there now. Still not sure what is happening with the Scn Ctrl 2 not having enough range to get all levels equal. But basically it sounds like with the Clean to Mean 1 I can just use Scn Ctrl 2 as that is what Moke has set. With the others I need to check what it is attached to...

Just tried and this method doesn't seem to work. Sc1 on 100% is quiet, Sc2 on 50% is where I want it, and Sc3 on 0% is too loud. I reset all the output level sliders to 0db.

That's what I do. I use VUMTdeluxe (https://klanghelm.com/contents/products/VUMT/VUMT.php) which is great because it is standalone. Still, I have a lot of presets with scenes in each so it is a bit task to level them all. I'd better get cracking.

Looking for this classic '74 Arosmith tone - (with iso guitar track ref)

Search the net. Mogg files are isolated track files you can open in the free/demo version of Cockos Reaper. Sometimes you can find isolated tracks on youtube. Also just a general search, for example I just searched "isolated guitar tracks" on google and it brought up a heap.

Just checked out the thread. It looks like they are more geared toward improving a DI acoustic track. The electric sounded ok but hard to tell without strumming. Which 3 Sigma IR's are you using. The Gibson sounded best to me.

Ok. The firmware update guide shows that it's required so without an AX8 video I assumed that was a necessary step. When I selected that option from within the AX8 it sure seemed that was as it said ready for update (or something like that). Anyway, all good and ready for next time.

Sure is. Except I still wonder what would normally keep the board in place. Because of the internal height there is about 10mm of play if the board should lift up. Thinking about adding some extra padding where I can to stop that. Although it will more than likely always travel flat.

Upgraded from this................. .......to this today. Apart from the mile long 1 Spot lead it's a pretty good fit.

Thanks for the replies. I gave up on the audition IR. Made sense it had to be on the hardware. So, thanks for the above info. Will look into that.

First up apologies if this is obvious or covered many time before. Regarding the Moke acoustic preset. I import the preset and there is no sound. I load a factory IR and there is sound so I assume this is the missing link. Can't figure how to import the IR's for this preset. Tried dragging...

Anybody own two...

I'd have an AX8 for every room in the house if I could but alas one of these is as close as I'll get. Not yet but will probably get the Richie Kotzen version. I have an AMT SS-20 which is part way there I guess but would not like to play without some spacial effects.

Mono output?

Can I just use a 6mm out from the AX8 to mixer in? The sound is good enough for me but just not sure if I should be using a plug to take stereo to mono? I jammed last night with the L 6mm out to mixer and it seemed fine.
