Why doesn’t Fractal include expression pedals on their boards?

I think on paper a lot of times having "all-in-one" scenarios seems like an awesome idea. But when it comes down to practical use often times it's better all around to keep things like this separate.
Now that I’m thinking about it, I want it angling out to accommodate my right-hand-dominant gorilla frame.

That would suck for a lefty.

I'm entertained by several mentions of the Vox modelers. I had the tone lab box and later, the tone lab se with the two pedals... I never broke mine, and I remember at the time being pretty happy with it, but that was a long, long time ago. Cool little units for the time! I liked it a lot better than my buddy's line 6 bean.

And yea, I'm glad the boards don't come with a built in expression pedal. I'd much rather choose my own. I do wish there was a larger FC though, but that's just me feeling spoiled.

i ran a music store years ago. there was a Vox modeler that was very popular.

people constantly brought it back damaged because the built-in expression pedal physically broke. mostly because they picked it up by the pedal, also just because it dropped or broke from heavy usage.

we didn't have parts to fix it, and all these people just had a board with silly looking broken pedal area that was useless. other brands too, but mostly this Vox unit.

some people want a larger pedal, or smaller, or on the left, or far to the right so the mic stand leg is between the switches and pedal.

i think it's a good thing they aren't included personally. it would increase cost and size of the boards, and many of the reasons mentioned above would apply.

fortunately you can pick up your favorite expression pedal that fits your foot and use it (TRS capable of course).
Vox Tonelab? Those things were honestly pretty good, for their day. My first modeler (SLO model!)

I have 2 expression pedals going into my axe-fx 3. However if i ever get my hands on a FC-6 again (i really need one to turn some stuff on/off and regret letting it go over the summer) or FC-12, I'm definitely gonna hook more up to that too lol.
At that point you don't even need a stage!

Many good points here, I would say that having the option of one high quality built in expression pedal would not necessarily eliminate using additional external pedals. Seems like it would be a feature desirable for those players who desire a more compact and simple setup. Less cables and cases, smaller footprint on stage, things like that. I haven't seen many reports of Fractal expression pedal failure but I suppose it happens.
