why does this thing seem to be unusable on the axe?? Just seems to clip everything unless drive is kept at 0.

I've just started using this drive block too, after thinking it was unusable for ages. Setting the tone at 0 is definitely the key. Now I'm using it into the Vibro-king model with input drive at about 5 and it's great. Lovely bluesy boost.

Yeah, tone to 0 and a neck pickup and use it to push a lightly driven amp & you’re in some pretty fantastic tonal area. It’s definitely a use your ears & not your eyes deal for sure, but when ya do, it’s the only one that does what it does.

Be sure you're not trying to emulate the Boss Blues Driver because it's based on a Marshall Bluesbreaker I
