    ^ I agree it's always a good idea to learn the hows and whys instead of just copying, but in this case I'm pretty sure bulb wants his main rhythm sound to have no dynamics, so that it's very even, plus a super tight gate that enables staccato palm mute chords and riffs.

    Can the OP or anyone who has this patch kindly post the EQ settings? I have a standard and I'd like to try to do a close-enough patch with whatever EQs the standard is allowed to use. On a side note, since EQs don't use THAT much CPU, it seems kinda arbitrary to impulse a limit on it, no?

    Can it be done with 4 EQs? I was thinking 2 x GEQ + 2 x PEQ on the standard in that case. Would you be so kind as to try that out and maybe put up a patch? :D

    I tried that parallel comp trick, I had tape drive > t808 mod > jcm 800 > cab > comp > comp. For some reason, no matter what I do I can't get the comp to squash ONLY the hard-picked notes all the way but leave the soft-picked notes alone, if I twist the threshold too low, it will squash...

    I'm just gonna say fuck it and install 7 ultimate 64bit... Thanks for the help! Edit: in a surprising turn of event, I'm getting a friend's RME hammerfall 9652 card, it has driver support for xp64 as well as MIDI IO, that might solve my problem... fingers crossed.
