FRFR atomic cabs and power sim

A few quick noobie questions, I know it is completely personal preference in the end. But, typically should cab sims be left on or off when using an FRFR system? Should the power amp sim and cab sims be turned off when using the atomic cabs? Does the powered version negate the need for this...

What effect is being used here?

Van Halen - eruption

Anyone got their own preset for some van halen? especially after some eruption(esque) kind of sound. Iv been through the factory presets but they haven't done it for me. Apologies for being a bit lazy but Im really interested in what other people have come up with.

so it's a good idea to get into the habbit of updating presets before updating firmware? out of curiosity what happens if you update firmware and your presets are not at the latest format?
