    Hi. Update to this is that I rolled the AFX3 back to 19.04 and unfortunately that seems to have reset much if not all of the system settings. I'm back on rotating colours on the logo, and more relevantly all FC functionality has reverted to unset. So for now I've loaded the default FC settings...

    How to rescue broken AFX3?

    Just for completeness: the problem was that I’d changed the clock from internal to spdif, and then turned off the computer and interface while still plugged into frfr speaker. So it was looking for clock and outputting garbage. Completely expected behaviour.

    So this morning the AFX has come on and sounds fine. Obviously I power-cycled it a couple of times last night (definitely not a wah or battery issue). So no idea why it's decided to play ball today. Still, sounds great (I've been on 19.1), so happy.

It was powered off during the boot sequence (blame the UK storm today) and it's now just passing a constant upper mid/HF noise with very subdued guitar signal delayed and HP filtered. It looks like it's functioning - displays working OK...

    Ok, so yes Al, it does work when midi is patched on 5 pin. And GlennO, you are absolutely right. Ableton has to have Output: Axe FX3 Sync On for it to pass via USB in Midi prefs. I wasn't watching that when I had the Axe 2 in circuit. Set it up years ago so I'd forgotten. Thanks so much.

    I’ll have a look in the am UK. But I doubt that it’s a usb issue given that the unit communicates with Axe Edit, and the same usb into the axe fx 2 is fine. So it’s not a setting you think?

I've got my Axe 2 seeing it just fine, but the 3 doesn't change when I run Ableton. Swapped USB between 2 and 3 but no change. Tempo to Global or Preset...
