    So true! I'm so glad that band that I was in "pre-AXE-FX" had been isolating amps in a different room so I got used to hearing myself only through floor monitors. This made the switch to the AXE quite easy (and that was actually using an Ultra).

    Ditto. My first gig was just days after I got my Axe and it was not great. After only a couple weeks of getting used to my new rig, though, the Axe is consistently awesome!

    I bypassed Norton (actually, temporarily uninstalled it). Upon doing so, it all installed in compatibility mode with no issues.

    I have Norton Security Suite (Installed through Comcast Constant Guard) on my machine. Could there be some sort of restriction though that?

    Thank you for the quick responses. I have tried both of these methods to get compatibility mode working for me, but to no luck. When I go to task manager and look under the details tab, I can see that the corresponding .exe is running, but the "memory (private working set)" column lists only...

    Ah! I get it! Like I had to do to the end of my chain when I was running a delay block in parallel with my dry signal before I realized that I should just set the delay block to 100% wet. ;)... so I guess that's yet another answer to the "silly things I've done" question.

    Wouldn't L+R=Left only if there was nothing "on the right" (that whole L+0=L, zero is the additive identity thing)? Does L+R actually mean (L+R)/2 (average) so as not to boost the signal to what would essentially be a double-hot input level? Based on the original post, apparently so :). Anyway...
