    A rough something in 12/8

Don't worry, if they had a delete function, I'd have very few clip posts left! :D

    Surf Spy Rock compsketch

Glad you enjoyed this sketch. I really like how the Axe is reacting to the Gretsch tones in clean intro and then once it gets rocking on rhythms and melodies.

    Surf Spy Rock compsketch

Another in a series of compositional sketches developing new material for band v 2.0. I have this surf-spy-rock thing that just won't let go. There are traces of spy and film noir motifs in some of the first Hectic Watermelon music, so this adds some surf to that whole thing. Guitars are Gretsch...

Keeping the neighbours up last night

BB, I'm getting audio on this side of the planet. Getting the full frontal blues assault! Rock on brother...your neighbors are lucky! :)

ML Sound Lab Dizzy V30 / SM57 + MD421 FW 2.04 Clearing off the spider webs!

Yes! I can't quite shake the image of the cow suddenly halting it's gyration at the outdo and starring ahead with that ominous look in it's eyes.

    Nationwide Budojai fusion rock sketch

Thank you very much. Nice to see Trower's going strong and still touring.

    Nationwide Budojai fusion rock sketch

Another in a series of compositional sketches. The Axe FX is all guitars and bass. Guitars are Suhr Classic T, Ernie Ball Bongo bass and SM on second solo. I am really digging the effortless dialing of driven american single coil rhythm from "I'm Nationwide", the "Bludojai Lead," and of course a...

Axe kitchen sink--grungy folk rock tune

Here, you go, Harry. Have fun!

Axe kitchen sink--grungy folk rock tune

Thanks, Harry. Did you actually want a plain backing track? If so, I can take a look and see if it isn't too odd. Ironically, this is one of the rare times where the melody comes first for me, so all the relative maj/min chords and counterpoint ac gtr in B came second and third.

Axe kitchen sink--grungy folk rock tune

Axe presets include Java Junkie's Strymon (Thanks!), variations of Dee Cee 30, Top Boost, Sultan's and Bassguy factory presents adjusted to taste. I even ported the acoustic guitars from mic pre in through the rear Axe in 2's to USB on this composition. It still needs a solo section, bridge and...

    Matchbox D-30^2 + Bludojai LD = HecticH20Melon

Thank you, I have always dug how Morse/Dregs would blend country riffs/idioms with funk and rock. They're not the only ones to do this, but the ones that influenced me the most by a country mile. :)

    Matchbox D-30^2 + Bludojai LD = HecticH20Melon

Thank you, I love how much definition and articulation there is in the Axe II XL+ in these hard to nail mid gain tones. I did a remix last night and was excited at how much tone is in there to work with without worrying about reamping as well.

Something in 6/8. Breaking writer's block

I really appreciate the deep layers of subtle textures to establish mood and support the melody so nicely. Really beautiful!

Bigwave Dave -- Friedman HBE, EBMM Morse, EBMM Bongo

Bigwave Dave gets worked by a gnarly skyscraper but lives to shred another day. Ernie Ball MM Morse, Axe FX II XL+, Friedman HBE setup variations, Bongo Bass and some tasty Waves plugins. This rough will definitely be rearranged and properly recored for next Hectic Watermelon album. It's pretty...
