What is the general life expetancy of the axe fx?

Besides backup battery changes, the fan could go bad. That's the only moving part in the unit. The fan is easy enough to change, though. - John

Lincoln Brewster patches?

Check out the new wireless in-ear system from Lectrosonics. This is a serious, professional system. http://www.lectrosonics.com/Press-Releases/lectosonics-debuts-quadra-digital-wireless-monitor.html. The specs are pretty killer. It won't be cheap, though. I do find something curious...

Headphone tone

I love the tone of my Axe through headphones. I don't change anything in the patches between my monitors and the "cans." I play through AKG 240DFs, M-Audio IE-40 IEMs, and a cheap pair. Sounds great on all three. - John

Beware of Staples deceptive advertising

Here's one for you... A local, small audio and video store chain undersold its b&m store by $400 on Amazon. I didn't pay sales tax or shipping and it was delivered the next day from their warehouse about 10 miles away. There was nothing the store guy could do. I felt bad because I had used...
