What is the general life expetancy of the axe fx?

Besides backup battery changes, the fan could go bad. That's the only moving part in the unit. The fan is easy enough to change, though. - John

Electronic Hum/Hiss coming from Axe Soundclip included!

So, with everything in the room off except the Axe, it still happens? How close are you to the Axe's display? - John

    Lincoln Brewster patches?

"That's a truly bizarre idea..." Yet noble all the same. Lincoln has an incredible ear for tone. What he can do with the Line 6 products is just phenomenal. It just proves (once again) it is every bit the player, not just the equipment. - John

    Lincoln Brewster patches?

I would love to have his patches too. He has such great tones and my Strat is very similar to his so it's up to my fingers at that point. :) - John

    New Killer In-ear System

Check out the new wireless in-ear system from Lectrosonics. This is a serious, professional system. http://www.lectrosonics.com/Press-Releases/lectosonics-debuts-quadra-digital-wireless-monitor.html. The specs are pretty killer. It won't be cheap, though. I do find something curious...

    Headphone tone

I love the tone of my Axe through headphones. I don't change anything in the patches between my monitors and the "cans." I play through AKG 240DFs, M-Audio IE-40 IEMs, and a cheap pair. Sounds great on all three. - John

    Beware of Staples deceptive advertising

Here's one for you... A local, small audio and video store chain undersold its b&m store by $400 on Amazon. I didn't pay sales tax or shipping and it was delivered the next day from their warehouse about 10 miles away. There was nothing the store guy could do. I felt bad because I had used...

    Carvin TRx12n Anybody Tried These?

Unfortunately, reviews for the Carvin TRx12n are not very good. I was interested in it too, but I only found negative reviews. There's just something not right with it. Here's a short review on this forum: viewtopic.php?f=13&t=9805&p=94487 - John

    Cool Motion Based Controller

Hey Guys, I attended the Bass Player Live event today and saw a cool, motion based controller. It has a small, wireless, 2-axis sensor and then, for MIDI purposes, a unit that translates that motion into various MIDI messages (including continuous controller). Some guys are putting the sensor...
