    Lollapalooza Live Stream

I've lived in Chicago for 11 years now, and this is the first year I haven't gone. I'm both happy that i won't spend 700 bucks this weekend and sad I'm not there. The live streams for these shows are ridiculously good though. One of my Lolla buddies is coming over later today for couch Lolla...

    Light bulbs....

Cliff mentioned this earlier in the thread, and I gotta say I don't believe it at all. 1 LED bulb lasts something like 10 times as long as an incandescent, so right there is the wasted materials of the 10 bulbs, as well as the usage benefits using 6x less energy or so depending on the bulb...

AFIII Canadians playing Separate Ways using the AxeFx III

This is really awesome!! I do however have one beef with it...there is not NEARLY enough denim, and playing keyboard against a the wall of a cargo container with AAANNNGNSSSST

    Phantom power circuit fried?!

A while ago...something like 4 years ago, one of the ferrite beads in the circuit blew. It was actually quite easy for me to just hardwire the input jack to the 7 pin midi circuit, but if you aren't familiar or comfortable with soldering then making a friend could do it? That is, if this is...

Synth and pitch block detection with bass

Does the III have better tracking down at say the open E string on bass and for that matter lower. The II started to completely sputter on bass at about G# (4th fret, 4th string). This would be an actual reason for me to upgrade in the future. Especially the synth block. Note, I'm not...

    My Piano Adventure.

I was watching this thread as I was looking for a new keyboard. I had a Casio Privia which I used almost solely for piano sounds for the last 6 years or so. Key action was fairly decent for a lower end keyboard. Was looking at getting something like the motif rack unit or some kind of roland...

    Gigging Cover FRFR Guys???

I second this notion. I have 5 core amp sounds from Clean to mega distortion. They way I accomplish it is only with 3 amps and 2 cabs. This gives me 5 options, but keeps them VERY similar due to using minimal amps and more importantly IMO, only 2 cabs.

    Earbuds

Either the Westones or the Shure's would be great for your budget. I think any preferences between them are gonna be personal.

Who is using external Soundcards with their band for DI to FOH?

I use Reaper with my MacBook output to a PreSonus Audiobox and run that to FOH. 2 channels. One containing click. One containing any kind of intro track we may use for the set.

    4U Rack Case with wheels?

I'm going to be another vote for a regular rack and a cart. I had a 4U rolling rack for a while, and it actually rattled loose screws from the Axe-fx lid. The little tiny wheels do TERRIBLE over bumps, and it puts a crazy amount of vibration into whatever is mounted inside. These days I use...

    Headset Microphone

So the distortion problem could be from 2 things. I'm not familiar with the Samson product, so I don't know if gain is adjustable on it. First is that when you sing loudly it actually overdrives the transducer in the mic. Probably not the case, but possible. More than likely you have some...

How many of you work a regular day job?

I consider myself pretty lucky at this point. My first job out of college was a really cool job. Unfortunately it was horrible hours, crazy stressful, and my boss was emotionally abusive to everyone in his life. It sure as hell wasn't ever boring though!! Then I tried to start my own...

Anybody who uses Axe FX II with in-ear?

I disagree with this slightly, but it stems from the purpose of using IEM's to me being different than yours. I both sing (lead) and play guitar and IEM's help me hear myself so much more clearly and at healthy volumes. My voice is so much more healthy for it. Sometimes I bring a 1x12 with a...

    Wireless routers for Digital Mixers

The only thing I would recommend is getting one that works in the 5ghz range as well as 2.4, which is most of them these days. This allows you to keep 2.4 a little clearer for any wireless systems that use that frequency. Honestly, any decent router will work great.

Synyster Gates on Fractal, working with them, and possible future of the Axe FX?

I see your point, but don't really agree with it. The main purpose of Facebook (from a user standpoint) I would say is to share things and view things that your peers are sharing. That's basically what this place is. This place is here to help fractal make money. The forum offers users a...
