    Recommended FRFR’s?

I just gigged this past Saturday with the FM3 —> FR12. The FR12 was fine for the gig. It’s loud, and I do not have the V3 preamp. Mine is stock. The little bit of hiss is not audible at a gig. I used a Clapton Artist with the Fender Gen 4 noiseless pickups for 90% of the gig. This setup works...

Questions regarding using the FM3 with an interface for recording

Hi, a little new to recording. I've been an FM3 user for awhile and I've recently decided I want to do some recording into GarageBand (or maybe some other DAW). My recording interface is a Focusrite Scarlett Solo Gen 3. I thought I could simply plug the FM3 output into the Solo input and...

Fender FR-12 preamp mod : The Hissterectomy

Thanks guys...my gig last Saturday was with the FM3 at +4dB and I recall the FM3 output dial set around 1/2 up, then just adjusted using the amp volume. I guess I'll just keep it that way for this weekend's gig.

Fender FR-12 preamp mod : The Hissterectomy

This is a great thread, I may do the mods over the winter. Regarding the +4dB vs. -10dB - with the FR-12 - I reached out to Fender to get their perspective but haven't heard back yet. I admit, I'm still not sure which to use. Last night I set my FM3 to -10dB and I have to really push up the...

    Output Block Meters?

I'm trying to grasp this but I don't really know what is meant by pre-fader/post-fader. I have continued issues with getting levels right. Every time I think I have them right, some meter is red. The output LED's I can keep out of the red pretty well, but the ones in the blocks, or using the...

Fender FR-12 preamp mod : The Hissterectomy

Just wondering, should I be using +4dB with the FR12? I gigged with it last night and I’m set to +4dB - worked fine but I’m not sure if I should keep it there.

    Output Block Meters?

I think I like the idea of turning the Output 1 knob all the way up and adjusting my presets levels from there. Then at the gig I can just turn the FR-12 volume up or down as needed. It worked great last night at our gig, everything sounded good But I did find myself fiddling with both output 1...

    Output Block Meters?

I was going to start a thread but I think my question aligns well with this one - I just bought a Fender FR-12 and frankly, it's the best sound I've ever gotten from my FM3 (aside from Studio Monitors). So now my config is simpler - Guitar to FM3 to FR-12. Perfect...except... I'm wondering...

Fender FR-12 compared to PXM-12. My experience so far.

OK, so I'm intrigued by the FR's - I was about to buy a PXM - but now thinking for the same money (roughly) I can get a pair of FR's. So, here's my question to all of the experts in this thread (seriously, you guys provide some great info) - In my case, I'd use either a PXM or FR as my main...

EV PXM-12MP vs Atomic CLR Neo

I have to try an EV…I’ve been using a PS170 into a guitar cab and while it works well, lately I’m finding I prefer FRFR When using the FM3. I’d like to be able to just take the presets I use with my studio monitors to the stage. I was going to buy a CLR, which might be great, but the EVs are...

Please help me with my levels - I'm spending way too much time with it

Yeah I have those adapters - I was wondering why you use output 1 instead?

Please help me with my levels - I'm spending way too much time with it

Soooo - I finally got around to following your steps - seems to work pretty well. I noticed in the level view, once set for output 1, is still a lot lower on output 2, but it doesn’t distort and seems loud enough with the PS170 driving the cab. Is that normal, that out 2 is lower (set at 0 dB...

Please help me with my levels - I'm spending way too much time with it

Well, my ears suck...just sayin' - I can't always hear what others hear. Volume levels I can hear for the most part. I have a few presets that I think will work for me tomorrow night, so I'll go with them. What is odd is that I spend time creating what I think sounds good, then come back the...
