Hook up for software amp emulator?

Hello, I use my Axe and real amps 90% of the time but occasionally want to run a DI signal through the Axe to a laptop and then back and out to the axe then to a FRFR powered speaker. I need some help with routing. If I plug into input 1 , It looks like I should come out DI on USB 5/6 to the...

Cathedral Re-amp AXE fx II Hello, I had an old, rough dry track of "Cathedral" by Van Halen that I used to mess around with the delay from Amplitube. I re-amped it through the axe with the Shiva Cln, Delay, my own IR (Avatar 2X12-G12H). Just for fun, definitely not perfect execution..but...

"Power tube gain" in axe edit amp block

Axe Edit has a knob labeled "power tube gain" in the amp block. Is there a corresponding setting in the axe or is this a future feature? I did not notice a difference when I turned it.

To anyone else who also just received their Axe-Fx II ... how is your fan noise?

Ok..I replaced the fan with the 12 dBA Silenx. That one is very quiet. I used 00 rubber washers from plumbing (about 5 mm thick) with a smaller soft rubber washer on top of that (about 1 mm thick) then the fan with the original nuts/washers.

To anyone else who also just received their Axe-Fx II ... how is your fan noise?

I wonder if there are a few different types of fan in use? When I tracked the specs on my "loud" fan, IIRC it puts out 24CFM at 36 dB (high speed). BTW, the fan is now connected to bolts which protrude from the case top. The bolts measure about 34 mm. If you put in a 25 mm thick fan, you will...

General Question About S/N's...

I picked mine up on the first day they were available on the Yahoo store. My serial # is a bit different than the rest I have seen L207423-12#R13 Clearly this one was meant for Steve Vai.

To anyone else who also just received their Axe-Fx II ... how is your fan noise?

My fan is definitely louder than my Ultra. Based on the responses, I would suspect that the noise each fan makes is somewhat variable. I've got normal 40 yr old hearing and I can hear mine easily from 25+ feet away. It doesn' t bother me too much, but I" ll probably replace with the 14 CFM...

I think the KOT would be a great addition to the AXE. Some clone schematics can be found at the madbean pedal website. I made one and it is incredible.

Front Input Jack - Warning!

I've been using "Cliff" isolated jacks on amp bulids for a while. I believe they are used on Marshall amps. They have a very solid feel, almost like a metal switchcraft jack. I have also used the nylon Switchcraft jacks...pretty well made, but a bit loose. Here is a link...
