Yet another FM9 vs FM3 thread, this one about DSP.

So for those who are curious, I eventually managed to snatch an FM3 II Turbo. Set it up and everything to suit my needs, along with an aux switch.

DSP wasn’t an issue for the most part, I was able to create most of the presets I need. What ended up being a deal breaker is the tiny audio gap when switching channels on the amp block. To me that makes it completely unusable, and while there might be workarounds, it reminded me as to why I chose an FM9 in the first place: I don’t want to compromise.

So I’ll stick to the FM9 and put up with the slightly bulkier/heavier size.

Thanks to everyone who assisted. :)

You're correct according to a post I found from Matt confirming that.
I believe it’s class compliant for audio but not for midi.

Also, it has a problem with reporting latency to hosts even for audio - whether it’s in the audio class spec or not I don’t know.

Did you enable all the Gapless settings?

There is no gap while amp channel switching with FM3. Make sure there is no Hold function at the switches which might be creating the delay.

Odd, I tried again making sure everything was set for gapless switching (it was) and now it gives me issues. The only thread on the matter I could find last night were before firmware 8 (which is when gapless options were introduced). I’m glad I posted about it haha.

So you have:

  • Gapless: ON
  • Spillover: ALL
  • All presets saved under the current firmware

And it's still not working?
