Copy/paste blocks on the unit directly

I used the AX8 for years and years, and rarely opened the computer editor. If I was at a rehearsal and needed to add a chorus block, rotary, delay or something to whatever I was doing, I'd copy/paste it from bank 1 preset 1, which I used as a kind of "blocks library" without needing the editor.

Long winded way of asking, can you copy/paste blocks in the same way on the AM4? And if not, can we get it?

With only 4 blocks, not sure how that'd really work out. You want to essentially build a bank of effects presets, more or less the Blocks Library on the device?

I think he means like his 16 favorite amps/effects (4 channels per block X 4 blocks), to cut and paste to other presets via the unit directly. I do think the Helix system of having "Favorites" which are stored on the unit (not PC) makes more sense on a smaller unit like an AM4, but rather not waste the DSP on that.

Something like that, just the ability to copy any given block and paste it into another preset would be fine. Like I'll know I have a flanger I like on a certain preset, and I want to try it on whatever we're working on in a rehearsal. Copy/paste/save - done. On the AX8 that function defaulted to bank 1 preset 1, so I just stored all my favorite blocks in there, kind of like a "block library." So you're in a given preset... say bank 12 preset 7. You open the copy/paste function, choose "flanger", and then "retrieve from preset...." and it fetches that block from any preset you want.

Of course I can just load in the default effect and set the parameters on the fly, but the copy/paste is usually quicker.

Yeah, having the ability to copy a block from one preset to another would be a huge benefit, especially where you have maybe a favorite Amp and settings that you’d like to reuse in other presets. Kind of a pain having to manually go back-and-forth to re-create the settings of a particular block when you are not sitting in Home in front of the editor.

That would be a great wish list item if not already posted as one.

If I posted it in the wrong way, please go ahead and repost as a wish :)

Blocks library on device would be the better solution for sure. But I'd gladly take the ability to copy/paste from another preset as a workaround. Then you could build "library presets" vs "actually use" presets.
Yeah, like I said in the OP I was already doing that on the AX8. Was disappointed not to find it on the AM4.
Blocks library on the unit would be fantastic, but I suppose there's a good reason why it can only be done on the editor.

Personally i wouldn't want a block library on the device that wasn't synched to the one on my computer, just confusing. (I didn't generally use it anyway, because as i understand it, saved blocks don't get upgraded by firmware updates.)

Being able to copy a block or block channel from another preset or channel on the device would be great, for when i don't even turn on the computer. I understand that that's not a simple ask, since there's no native clipboard support there.

This isn't that.

You're in preset A1 and you want that perfectly dialed in amp from preset A4.

You go to A1 and you choose TOOLS > RECALL EFFECT
Preset: A4
Block: Amp

Now the amp in preset A1 has the settings from the amp in preset A4.

Save if you like it.

Again, it's nice, but this sort of thing has been imagined as Editor-only, and that seems to work for most people.

Definitely eager for this one.

the am4 made things so simple on the device I almost never use the editor unless in “housekeeping” mode for updates and backups.

For me, it’s mostly a cab with customizations I want to use across all channels and into neighboring presets while keeping the rest of the amp as configured.
