Always on delay?

Does anyone use an "always on" delay when playing live? Specifically for bar gigs through the PA. I currently use the London plate reverb at about 8%, but I'm wondering if I should drop the reverb and use some type of delay instead. I feel like the reverb, even at at low value, can tend to wash out the guitar in a live band mix.
 
You may try increasing the Reverb PreDelay parameter and see if that helps.

Predelay – Adds extra delay before the reverb starts. The Size control (see below) automatically imparts a certain amount of delay before the reverb starts. Use this control to add more delay if desired. For example, if the Size is low, the reverb will start almost immediately. You can use this control to add some delay before the reverb starts but keep the small-sounding size. See also the “Advanced” page parameters that can be used to add extra repeats and tempo synchronization to the Pre-delay

Yes , I do a TC 2290 , 333ms low mix that I had gotten from a Reb Beach interview as he hates bone dry guitar and that setting seems to work
 
Never, and I played delay and reverb heavy music when i was touring.

Every room adds reverb. Your reverb and delay will benefit greatly from eq cuts as to not build up and wash you out.
 
I do a Medium Hall reverb "always on" at about 10% and 1.8s.
I also have a stereo tape delay that I add for leads when necessary.
I've tried that Reb Beach delay at home and practice, etc. Never tried it live. I think I've just been hesitant to.
 
I will say I think it depends on the style to if it 80s rock guitar like Reb
Now if I was playing something like Disturbed that very staccato I would turn it off
Also I personally never use verb live
 
Definitely.... I use a Source Collider after my VP4. I use a small amount of a medium hall verb and a quarter note delay set around 330 ms and 4-5 low volume repeats. I keep it on all the time. I don't use any big ambient stuff at all and using a separate verb/delay pedal frees up blocks on the VP4. I am playing in a cover band .... mostly older Pop and Country with just a few classic rock tunes.
 
I can't say 'always on' but I typically have a 112 ms slap, 1 repeat, mix at 6, after the amp. Just to have something there. I used the Ambience reverb type, mix at 8 just to have some air around the note if I'm using IEMs at times as well.
 
The London is a fairly large ish reverb. On most of my science I have a always on medium room reverb I just lie the feeling of a little room verb

I did 😊, was inspired by the settings I saw on Reb's setup, when he played a live show over here(bass on full along with the other EQ settings) and that 320ms delay in his setup, although he was using a dd-3 I think in the loop/always on, so I guess he set it by feel
 
I have recently favored this - just using a little delay and bypassing any reverb and letting wherever we are playing provide that. I think I like it better because it does help clear up my tone a little (I think)
