Yes it will. The Insert is analog, so it is after the D/A conversion. Keep in mind though that the insert is in series so it will block the signal from getting to the Output jacks unless you bring it back in through the Insert Return jack. Can someone check whether USB audio output comes out of the Insert Send ?

I understand you can plug your smart phone into the USB-C jack to get music into the AM4, but did you have to run a TRS 1/4" to TRS 1/4" cable from the Insert Send to the Insert Return for the music and guitar to show up in the headphone out?I did it last night with my iPhone! I jammed with my streaming music apps and Youtube backing tracks. You might need to adjust output levels of preset or amps, since it was noticeably louder than the playback for me. Props to FAS for using USB C! It is so easy to travel with and practice with music on most smart phones, PLUS have access to AMAZING TONES!

It has nothing to do with the block diagram. The AM4 insert is all analog. USB audio is digital so it has to be mixed in before the D/A conversion. The insert is after the D/A convertion so any signal that goes to the Output jacks has to go through the insert first.
So then no cable from Insert Send to Return should be necessary.mr_fender said:

I only used a regular headphone jack (I think its 3.5mm, correct me if I'm wrong) for output. I did not use any other connections. That’s awesome. I have an iPhone 13 with lightning port goin to usb-c on the am4 and I’m not having any luck get the audio to go to headphones. Does your iPhone have usb-c charging port? Maybe that why mine doesn’t work.I did it last night with my iPhone! I jammed with my streaming music apps and Youtube backing tracks. You need a camera connection adapter with lightning... At least for Axe Fx III and FM9.That’s awesome. In my experience, you need the adapter if your iOS device uses a lightning port.So a lightning to USB-C cable won’t work?
