Anyone thrilled with their PRS SE?

The demos on the new SE Semi Hollow Special H S H sound really good and the top is flatter
I rest edge of palm above the strings so easier with flatter or LP max curvature . The other Semi Hollows have strings high off body which I don't like 335 's and Les Pauls are not too high but other PRS Hollows are [ my quirk ] .

So I want to try this one.

The pickups are extremely well matched - for H S H - I like slight mismatch so center Single is a bit underwound Stack for me [ with series parallel]. The Narrowfield in parallel [ it's 2 coils in parallel to each other should QUACK like crazy in combination with other PU's].

BUT this PRS has a LOT of sustain in the demos and warm humbucker tones.
And it sings with a bit of OD.
I would use a deeper Neck Hum and a parallel switch for the Narrowfield.
For extreme quack option .

It is $1149. high for SE but sounds really good on the demos so I am itching to try one.

My favorite PRS was the 513 but expensive to be stuck with proprietary pickups .

I think this will be similar .....in some ways.

I own a core special semi hollowbody and it is one of the most versatile guitars that I have. It also has the best split coil sound with very little volume drop. I'm sure the SE version sounds great especially for the price.

PRS is killing it with the SE lineup.
As they've done for a while. One the best SE models is the Bernie Marsden; I have two SE245's that the Bernie is based on. Both killer guitars with upgraded pickups: a vintage Gibson P90 in the bridge and a Wolfetone Mean for the soapbar and a Wolfetone A4 Marshallhead / Dr Vintage set in the humbucker. Both are very close to my American PRSi and LP. Fortunately the current models don't have the nasty headstock lettering.

I have a Korean built SE245 Soapbar myself. It is a very good guitar. The stock pickups sound great so I haven’t changed them out yet.IMG_3397.jpeg

I would absolutely love to get a Swamp Ash Special or NF3, but there's something about the finish PRS use on the SE necks that just doesn't work for me...... I could fix it, I know...... but I kinda can't be bothered....... still, I suspect a blue Swamp Ash Special may eventually mysteriously appear at my place.

I have a violet quilted SE CU24 with a 6 way Freeway blade switch with USA Dragon II pickups, a SE CU24-08 with SD Hades Gates pickups, an old Garnet flamed maple Korean SE Orianthi CU24 with custom hand wound Zhangbucker.com pickups, a SE Swamp Ash Special (the blue one) with USA 58./07 pickups in it, a stock SE NF53 (as good as the core NF53 I used to own), a SE 594 double cut (blue flamed) with USA 58/15L pickups, a SE Chris Robertson model signed by the band with a factory installed BSC logo sticker with BSC in their font, a SE Mark Holcomb stock, a stock SE DGT, and an SE NF3. The SE's with trems now have locking tuners and either changed to a MannMade brass tone block or the whole tremolo replaced with a MannMade one. I play and love them as much as my core guitars and other brands!

I'm wondering about the tuning/nut issues you are experiencing on your SE DGT. I have an Paul's Guitar SE and the G string is sharp when fretting around the 2nd to 5th fret. I was thinking it could be an issue with the nut as well, though I've not attempted any changes yet.
Sounds like the nut slot is too high, so when you fret up close to the open position you are pulling the string sharp to get down to the fret.

anyone with a NF3 think its somewhat Tele like? like if I wanted a tele and am not a hardcore tele guy but want a guitar that does tele-ish stuff...would this scratch the itch?
