FM9-Edit won't connect

I can’t open FM9 Edit all of a sudden on my Mac. Yesterday it was working fine, today the app opens but it is black, no connection with the hardware, and the beach ball is hanging and I have to Force Quit to get rid of it (many times…). I Did all the usual things: turned FM9 off and on again .. deleted and reinstalled FM9-Edit… changed USB hub … changed USB cable .. all same result, it hangs, it is not happy :(

If it’s not the software, or the cable, or the hub .. should I re-set the FM9 back to Factory settings?

Has this happened to anyone? I'd be so grateful for any ideas.

Did you restart the Mac?
Did you move Edit's preferences out of their folder and let it rebuild them?
Are you running the latest FM9-Edit?
Did you make ANY changes to the Mac or the FM9 yesterday?

Does the FM9 sound and work correctly from the front panel? If so, it's probably not the FM9.

In my experience the cable is a big issue.
Try to connect the USB cable directly from PC to the FM9, without the hub nor extensions cables/adapters in the middle.
Use only high quality USB cables.
The shorter the cable the better will work.
Try to change USB port, so it will reset its driver.
Let us know...

There's no "original FAS cable".

If you bought from G66 then they add a cable, I believe.

Those who buy directly from Fractal get the unit and a power cable ;)

Yes I did, three times 😊... and they added good quality USB cables and a G66 T-Shirt.
In two cases they even added a complimentary box of chocolates (not jocking 😋).
