Let's see those FM3 rigs!

Just mounted on a board... but I have the editor on a tablet, and nice tiny Moyo volume and control pedals. Plus, I 3d printed all my brackets.

But the real star is my one-of-a-kind Multi-kord pedal steel. Upgraded with rods instead of cables, two knee levers added, custom string-through pickup, bespoke fretboard design and tablet stand. This is the only MK I've ever seen with a steel tray, so it actually stays in tune. Boy does that pickup give a lot of nice tone for the FM3 to work with. The little keyboard is there because FM-edit doesn't implement windows touch protocol, and there is no way to right-click. I'm hoping they fix that soon.

So ... after a couple of hundred posts in these forums, and a few adventures with both a friend's FM3 and my own eventual purchase of an FM3T, I have finally built my rig!!

Behold my creation :)

This is a Rockboard 4.1, with the Mod 3 Patch Panel, a Mission Engineering EP1, and a DIY two button footswitch. I also installed a carry handle and a USB extension. Everything is pre-patched into the Mod 3, so no wear and tear on the FM3T sockets ...

There is a Sennheiser XWS2 wireless mounted underneath, with flip out antennae on extension cables on the top of the board. These fold away for easy transport. The wireless runs to the outside of the patch panel, which then connects from the other side to the Input on the FM3T. This means that if the wireless ever goes down, I can unplug it from the back of the rig, and swap over to a guitar cable which effectively just gets sent into the FM3T input.

Great pictures-- how did you attach the wireless received to the underside? Also--the power connection to the mod v3 is just some kind of reverse regular IEC cable? take that to your FM3? Great work!

I used heavy duty 3M Velcro to attach the wireless. To make it extra secure I used a wide 7mm zip tie (no pix, sorry!).

For the power, I used a 2 way splitter, similar to this.

One end straight into the FM3, and the other end has an AU 3 pin adapter for the wireless power pack.

It's a very easy set up .. I made a wrapped loom with signal and power leads, so only one thing to plug in at the pedal end for gigs etc..

Anxiously waiting for my fm3t to arrive and built a simplified board. My plan is to do an fm3 only board with the following. Palmer pedalbay 40 - fm3 - boss ev30 expression pedal - flyht pro safebox pelican style case. Fm3 will handle everything,so my whammy5 and the crybaby mini will go for now. No need for power supply is a plus. Can't decide for a power amp though. I might do a true stereo rig with a powerstage stereo or an orange pedal baby one. I'll post pics when i assemble everything.

@zebric21 Welcome aboard, and we all hope you enjoy the journey... lots of folks around here are happy to help, both with getting started and with fancy stuff 😀
I'm experienced with digital units coming from the hx stomp (great unit). I also had the chance to try a friend's fm3 about a month. FM3 is a small step above the hx stomp in every aspect. So is the price and the size.

Solo acoustic guitarist here.

Edit: ignore the mess of cables....

I thought that the point of acoustic was to get rid of the mess of cables... :D ;)

Here’s my current setup. H9 #1, Sunset, EVH Flanger, Thermae are in front of the FM3. Output 2 hits the H9 #2, BigSky, Microcosm and Mood 2. Then Input 2 and Output 1. I had been going into Adam Audio monitors but just picked up these Mesa Boogie Thiele cabs with EV 12L speakers that are powered by the pair of TC BAM200 amps. There’s also a small midi board out of view with Morningstar MC8 and MC3.

What a collection of such very cool stuff. What in the heck do you do with it all? FM9 here, never came close to running out of space or effects. Got a Plethora X5 I've been threatening myself to loop into the FM9, but I just can's search out a need. Had a few of those, always wanted a couple more - but, wondering. Bad ass cabs, BTW.

Definitely a lot of overlap with the H9’s. I mainly like them for the convenience of being able to pull up something like a Phaser or Leslie, one of the lesser used effects. Same with the Sunset. Just to keep the CPU lower to be able to add a Multi Tap or Plex. I do have a Plethora X1 but I bought more for the novelty. Haven’t found a massive need for it. Thanks on the cabs! I had been looking for them and came across a pair on FB Marketplace for quite a deal.
