FM3 Firmware Version 10.0

Ok hey all. I just did editor upgrade, 10.0 upgrade and downloaded new presets followed by RANF...then went to preferences and selected preset names refresh per instructions. however, how do I know if the new presets loaded or not...names look the same and there is no presets in loaded after 380 and instructions say 384...what did I do wrong...I did all banks in Fractal bot? Any help appreciated or maybe I am good. Ran thru 1st 20 presets and did not hit CPU limit...so not sure if they are new or not...how does one tell? I deleted from 380 to 390 before loading new presets but no new presets filled those slots.

How exactly did you load the new Presets - did you drag Banks A, B, C into the FM3 via the Preset Manager?

This video shows a good way of doing in ... instead of dragging in a recent backup (which you should do before this anyway, and this is a way to restore your own presets above slot 384 - eg your own Bank D!), you drag in the new Factory Presets.

Good question. Maybe delete presets 100, 200, and 300. Then try reloading the three banks again.

All my live presets are based on the same amps (deluxe and 59slp)
Do I just need to resave all the presets once the sod reset has been done in all channel on my main preset?

Every preset. The soft reset operates on the block in each preset. It's about the settings within the preset.
 
Hi guys, i just download the new firmware (10.0) from the 8.0 .... Now it has a screen massage that says "DYNA-CABS NOT INSTALLED" ... what should i do? i was reading the notes on the zipfile from the 10.0 but i do not understand what to do.

Install the DynaCab file that’s included with the firmware.
 
Yep ... @Christian Lama do exactly the same thing you did to load the FW10 file into the FM3, except this time you select the Dynacabs file that came in the update package, and you push that file into the FM3 using Fractal Bot.

Restart when asked and RANF again (it can't hurt!) ... then you should be good to go!

No I did not drag new presets in with preset manager, I used fractal Bot. I did do backup before starting upgrade. I was just following the instructions from the presets upgrade doc that came with the new presets. I followed the instructions on the attached vid but everything was going fine till I hit preset 244 Horrorfest then locked up so rebooted I remember some folks having problems with loading this preset so thought I would go the FractalBot route but that was unsuccessful..I might just delete that preset and retry with manage presets. Unless there is another option? Thanks
 
Unit locks up when I try to clear old Horrorfest 244 within manage presets. So need to research the fix for this before loading new presets
 
Go to a blank Preset location, and then copy that to Slot 244.

Also, best to load an empty Preset before doing any of these update type functions, as that lessens the workload on the FM3 CPU.

I have an FM3 Turbo, and haven't had any challenges so far. I've not tried the Horrorfest Preset ... now I want to, to see why it is so CPU heavy!!
 
Ok I believe I have succeeded in loading the 10.0 presets. With your help...so thanks! I did go to my 9.0 presets and cleared 244 Horrorfest under presets tab in edit and saved. I then went back using manage presets and copied the 10 presets 3 banks to overwrite the old presets and it zipped by Horrorfest with no issues. so thanks Doogz and skolacki for the help! Not sure why Fractalbot would not load the new presets but no more time to deal with this as work beckons me. Now to do batch soft reset on my gig presets when I return tonight...fingers crossed...lol. And then adjust reverbs and compressors...to account for CPU limits... By the way I could tell the new presets from old by the GoT presets.
 
Does anyone know if soft reset resets bright cap settings. I think it might have changed in some of my settings where I’ve reduced the factory setting? Not a problem for me, just interested to know.
I did make a backup in case, but where my presets sounded different after soft reset I’ve just gone in a tweaked to taste with the new firmware settings anyway.

I'm pretty sure it does.

Check the wiki. @yek updated it to show what is reset and what isn't.
