Even after all of these years, firmware GAS still gets me just as much as it did back in my Ultra days. I don't even get to play my FM3 much but I think way more about that firmware than I do about my FM3. Sounds crazy I know!

It’s been stated it will be an official release of version 10. It’s been a year since the last official release. The FM3 has most of the new stuff (drives etc) that it is capable of running already from the current beta firmware. Correct me if I’m wrong.

I do understand the urgency as I'd be in dire need of it too if it were my only FAS device. Can't use it as an audio interface at all in MacOS 15.4+.

But Matt already said a full release is imminent.

Before another public beta would come out it would need to go thru private beta again.

Ok seven months. This beta firmware is great though. New presets and the new algorithms are exciting prospects. Not sure the unit will run the new comps. It’s a pretty hush hush thing as beta testers don’t leak info afaik.

I also thought that FM3 may have reached the end of its career, not so much because it is inadequate but rather because it has already been exploited and optimized to its maximum capacity.
This is the feeling I had to justify the long wait for the new firmware.
In any case I do not even consider the transition to FM9, the form factor is fundamental for me and FM3 is more than sufficient for my needs.

Yeah they keep pulling it off. I’m impressed. Going to hit the wall one of these days though. It’s inevitable.

As a private beta tester I'm not allowed to talk about anything unless it's already public knowledge from a Fractal employee.

hope it still has some time left for updates... or they need to release a new product in same or smaller form factor. Size matters!

I hope this is THE week. I have already prepared a new preset with my new setup (FM3 -> Class D power amp -> Mesa Thiele 112, sounds awesome, even at low volumes).

WRONG!

My FM3 MarkII Turbo is connected to my Orion Studio via S/PDIF, and it stopped working with the advent of 15.4.1.

FWIW, my OG FM3 w/headphone out is working just fine connected to my MOTU Ultralite Mk5 via SPDIF on MacOS 15.4.1.

I'm sorry but I have no use for Uncle Cliff worshippers with no engineering background or software dev experience. So you are correct, Fractal and its customer experience is not my of tea.

I have both, that's why I'm not blaming Fractal.
I used the cables for a while and then I updated my OS, problem solved

And by the way, I'm not judging you, I'm offering solutions.

It is good to be able to get an idea of who you may be interacting with on the forum.
