Let's see those FM9 rigs!

I took the feet off my FM9 and used heavy duty Velcro to attach it to the board, and I did have to trim the foam slightly where the knobs on the FM9 are positioned. So it is snug but works well enough to protect it when travelling back/forth.

I see! This is very helpful, thank you.

Does it matter that the vent on the bottom of the FM9 is covered in that case? I was assuming the feet would let the vent breathe.

Make sure that vent (and the ones in the sides at either end) are free and clear, to ensure the unit's cooling is effective....

Personally, I wouldn't take the feet off my FM9. I probably could have, mounting it on my temple board as it looks like there are lots of holes for ventilation. But taking the feet off would drive my OCD nuts. Getting the correct size screws to go through the temple board was the perfect solution.

Just got the FM9 so I made a little programming set up in my family room. Those CLRs in my face are nice when creating presets. Easy to check gig volume.

I was editing on the unit until I added the fractal editor today. Very nice program btw. Thats why its on a piano bench.

Recently switched back from a flat board to an NXP live-in case. I like the added room for the GLXD & slightly larger exp pedal, but man, it’s a lot heavier 🥵

I like both setups honestly! Do you have the brand/model numbers? I may look into this. I have always used a live-in case with my kemper and got used to it. I want something similar for my FM9 but you're right, they are all pretty heavy.

The NSP is their “Fractal FM9 Turbo” case with the added depth and width options selected: https://theflightcasecompany.com/fractal-fm9-turbo-flight-case

The flat board was just a run of the mill Creation 24x12.5 blackout series flat board. I ended up templating the four corner mounting screws onto that board and screwing it on with some longer screws since I liked that better in a soft bag than just dual lock. The NSP case is nice and snug so I just use regular Velcro to hold it in place.

Only thing that caught me off guard with the NSP case was that my old Helix floor NSP sat recessed in the bottom half, whereas this one is set flush with the lip. I thought it’d be hard to get used to, but I don’t even notice it anymore.

Here are some build photos and the design specs for anyone who may be interested in a similar build...

@Babtanian - Does the board fit comfortably in the Rockboard 3.3 flight case? Asking because FM9 height is way higher than any traditional pedal. Appreciate your feedback. Thanks

Recently added OCD (Otter Custom Design) Duo+ for FM9. One switch tap activates/bypasses FM9 tuner with a ts cable; 2nd switch taps bank +1; hold bank -1 with a trs cable. Peterson StroboStomp Mini resides above input jack 1. Basically acts as a killswitch for bypassing the FM9's main circuitry and in order to prevent speaker pops when powering up/down. EV-1 enjoys limited use, although is currently connected as a wah/volume.
