I recently created a preset using just FAS amp models (FAS Lead 1, Modern III, FAS Crunch and FAS Class A) literally a one stop shop of a preset that covers all my needs, its my go to now. So I think a little small form factor unit that just provides the FAS amp models plus a select few FX like delay, verb, chorus and overdrive models would be superb and it would give Cliff a little unit that just provides his own ideas and takes on amp modelling rather than providing the virtual mega store of amp and effects models. But I am very very happy with the FM3, its size and capabilities. even when the updates stop arriving.

I do not get this obsession with making tiny modeling units. Yes, the HX Stomp size is impressive for what they fit into it but the FM3 beats it handily in power, functionality, and usability. I wouldn’t want it any smaller than it currently is.

Or even a Mesa-Boogie Mk IIB 100 watt combo with an EVM12L in it. Even with a rolling case it was a PITA to move around.

Almost, if the VP4 would work with a FC controller, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. Don't get me wrong, I love the modeling capabilities, but for one of the bands I am in, I just haven't been able to get a sound I like compared to the other guitarists Mesa Dual rack-ifier. If I could have all the FXs, and control it from a FC, and still use the midi functionality to control a midi capable preamp, I'd buy it today. Lol.

In addition to the cooling and processing issues mentioned, another size consideration is the power supply. The HX Stomp has to have an external brick (or a pedal power platform) to function. Having the power supply built in to the FM3 so you can easily just swap out another IEC cable is massively important at the pro level.

What top panel features and I/O would you remove to make it possible?

There's a lot that could be reduced I guess (gordius LG2 can be programmed with one single rotary button, that becomes at the same time a part that would be very exposed to damage), but would it make sense ? The actual mechanical UI is there more or less since first gen units and kind of permit to feel at ease on any unit still today. Also as far as I understood, the actual FM3 size is necessary due to cooling needs and it rocks, works at 40°C without any flaws.
