From which version did you update?Since I updated, I notice that the ODS CLEAN 100 amp has completely changed.. the sound has changed and a lot of highs have been added to it.. does anyone else have this problem?
I don’t think it was the triode stuffI like reading the III release notes to see what may be coming to the FM3. Hoping Cliff can squeeze it all in to the little guy. Sounds like the triode changes were rolled out prematurely.
From 9.01 to the 9.02 betaFrom which version did you update?
Weird. If you didn't do any advanced tweaks to the Amp or Cab block, i'd write down the important settings, reset those blocks (channels), and then set them again to the values (you had before). See how that works out. From 9.01 to the 9.02 beta

Yes, absolutely nothing.. What's more, I recorded with the previous sound, so I have an exact reference for what was before. In addition, I also copied the same sound to another location, and in both places the sound of the amplifier changed.Weird. Are you sure there is no wah or (global) eq active?

Too bad, can you post a preset that we can inspect? Other than that i cannot help you... someone else may chime in.Yes my friend.. I did that.. still the same
It sounds good on my FM9. I'd turn off the bright switch. You could post recording of how it was before and how it is now, so we have a better understanding of what changed.Sure, Here it is:

It's not a problem at all:I have a couple of questions for those of us who have been parked on FW8.
1. What is the best / most reliable way to update to the latest firmware?
2. How do I get back to FW8 if I don't like the new updates for some reason?
I want to try the new stuff but I am very happy with the sound and the way things work on FW8. The only real issue is the killdry thing but it's a simple workaround to flip to another preset and back.
Fever dream: I guess I could just buy a new FM3 Mk2 and keep my original one the way it is. But let's assume that's not going to happen for the time being.
Thanks,
Frank

Gotta be honest - there's a lot of good stuff in the new FW28 that will hopefully make it to the FM3
For me - the only thing of interest is can the new "triode algorithms" run on the FM3 as they impact/improve pretty much every single Amp.
Find out soon enough I would suspect.
I'm a simple person![]()
I agree the triode changes are what I’m most interested in.
Cliff’s quote regarding this
“fwiw, this is the best sounding firmware yet. I had these new triode algorithms but I didn't think they'd run in real time. On a lark, I coded them and was surprised to see them run with sufficient overhead.”
So it ran better than expected on the Axe. But will it squeeze into the little guy? I sure hope so. So far FAS has figured out how to streamline the code for the amp modeling updates to work on the FM3. So I’m hoping they can for this one. Might be awhile though. Dealing with the lower cpu availability must be a bitch
