FM3 Firmware Version 9.01

Just want to express my gratitude. Fractal wrings every last bit of capability out of their hardware. When I bought my FM9, I was all set to put the FM3 (original, no headphone jack) on the block. I'm really glad I didn't. It still keeps getting better.

Man, I turn my back for a couple hours and bang…more fun from the FAS miracle workers.

Thanks to everyone who make these things happen.👍🍻

Is everything different colours or am I misremembering? All the parameters on device now have a cyan glow, more text everywhere is cyan, output meter is all green (didn't it used to have red?)...

can someone explain to me what is this?
i think the fm3 was always receiving midi clock I'm wrong??

Added a Send MIDI Clock option.
Added a Receive MIDI Clock option. This can be configured to receive MIDI beat clock messages or ignore them.

I’m on 9.00 but have not installed Dyna Cab (to shorten boot up time and I don’t use them)

Do I have to install Dyna Cab in order to update?

Upon getting my FM3, I updated the firmware to 9.0, at the time the most recent firmware. I didn't install Dynacabs at that time, and I got the nag screen telling me Dynacabs weren't installed every time I started up. So I guess it would be possible to skip installing Dynacabs in 9.01.

But keep in mind that 9.01 has drastically sped up boot time, so installing Dynacabs isn't as much of a slowdown as it was in 9.0.

Expression position switching seems a bit wonky with this update. Seems like I need to unplug the expression pedal and plug it back in sometimes before moving the pedal will activate the controller.

After flashing the switching Wah/Volume doesn't work on Mission SP-1 pedal. The Wah always on.
I am seeing the same behavior, also using the Mission SP-1 dual-output pedal. Up until 9.01 the latching switch (plugged into Exp 2 on the FM3) worked to switch between Vol and Wah, now it seems to have no effect. I'll be investigating further today, substituting in some other switch to see if it has the same behavior. Maybe 9.01 changed the switch configuration?

@Admin M@ :
FW 9.01 - bug?
I rolled back to FW 9.0, and the switch in the Mission SP-1, connected to FM3 Expression 2, acts as expected, toggling between Vol and Wah. It seems FW 9.01 changed/broke this.

Checked again this morning and it seems that it takes a couple swipes of the expression pedal for the wah auto-engage to start working after the unit is fist powered up. It seems to behave normally after that. Unplugging and re-plugging the expression pedal doesn't really matter.

Re: Mission SP-1 Vol/Wah switching in FW 9.01 -
After I rolled the FM3 back to FW 9, the scribble strips under the onboard buttons were all blank. I re-installed FW 9.01, no change. I ended up restoring the factory layouts, which brought back the default labels. For some reason I don't understand, something during this also fixed the problem with the SP-1 switch, now it is controlling the Vol and Wah bypass just like it did in FW 9. I have no idea why, but it works now.

@Admin M@ , please ignore my prior post, it's apparently not broken.

That's normal:
o Added activity sensing to internal pedals, FC pedals and external controllers. This stops Auto-Engage from activating an effect if the pedal/controller is not connected. This prevents, for example, a Wah being engaged if Auto-Engage is on but no pedal is connected (i.e., you left your expression pedal at home).
