Wish Ability to select whether layouts are per preset or global.

Couldn’t I just make the separate presets I want to select only have 1 scene? So I wouldn’t have to worry about that really. It’s the going back to the original scenes from the original preset is what seems like I can’t do within one layout.

Again, this is what the Setlist functions are designed to address.

There's no other way for a single switch press to take you to a specific preset+scene combination.

Although, to mention it again, PC Mapping could also be used...

Yes, I’m going to experiment with setlist functions, but I believe I will like plain old scenes more because I don’t use a lot of presets. but I will try/experiment

Are you already using all your scenes or is your CPU maxed out in the preset?

Otherwise maybe a better approach is trying to get it all into a single preset ;)

CPU isn’t maxed but I’ve been experimenting with an expression pedal controlling whammy, some octave divider stuff, and I’d like to get into custom harmony for harmonizing leads. So it’s a lot of pitch block action and experimentation

A 3-row FC with another row of switches would be fun.

I use a lot of off-board switches for pre-defined stuff that needs no (or little) indicator light/label. Tap tempo doesn’t need a lighted/labeled switch. The blinking LED works fine. Bank, preset, and scene Increment/decrement switches are another good candidate for off-boarding, as there are other ways to see their status.

The one thing that does need some status indication in my setup is the lead amp channel status. Two of my off-board switches are set up to give instant access to 3 channels with one tap. I "waste" a switch on the board to get a status indicator by setting it up to toggle between B and C, with C as the primary and label set to current channel. The switch is then dark for A, dim for B and bright for C. The off-board switches are set as A (primary)/B (secondary) toggle and C (primary)/B (secondary) toggle. Whichever channel is on, the switches give me the other two with one tap. A is 'low gain', B is 'mid gain', and C is 'high gain', so the light brightness works well as an indicator....

I sort of have templates, so I save a copy of a preset that has the config I want, complete with per presets for my switching. I save the amp block I want to the library and then drop it in to the ‘template’. Of course, I’m on the FM3 so my options are limited. But this does save me some work on my per presets.

I've fallen in line to the Fractal way and use Placeholders as they were intended... Bastards!

I have a very similar approach. Saves a lot of setup time....
