He was talking about other random one offs I think
You missed the part where he said I am looking at the DZLs now
I can totally see the point too about going off on a wild goose chase
There 300+ models and if users are changing advanced etc it may not be the models at all in some cases but just the tweaks made that don’t work anymore w a specific version of firmware
I said thanks to him for that and also pointed out, the I was not alone who wrote, that diezels sounds strange, in fact, quite a lot of users reported the very same thing, therefore 1% vs 99% seems too stretched.
this beta thread is here for reporting both good and bad things IMO.

I guess I’m confused lol…….doesn’t one sound just as awesome as the others?

Maybe it’s just my Chinese Adams…….. ;)
It does, in a mix. We're critically listening to models since there's been changes and discovered some oddballs. Herbie ch 3 is fine with the gain knob low after all, and leon's take is on ch2+.

The rolling nature of fractal's development approach, especially with open betas, mean's it will get looked at when there's time, which is all good. Some people forget this is a beta thread, or get offended over some funny comments.

That's how it goes though when you want maximum hands on for a test. One can't be too picky with volunteers :P

Let’s go back to the Beta and maybe give Dizzy a break for now and discuss how awesome the low end is and the freaking Rectos are off the charts and by far the best version in any modellers now IMO
Uber is killer 2 , Ver21 overall is really a step up to my ears

It is a disgustingly great update from the cutting edge of amp modeling tech, with responsive devs. Easily the greatest gear purchase I've ever made.

Now stop polishing knobs and break shit so it can be even better.

A little illustration. If you have a piece of paper with a torn corner and you ask someone what they notice about that piece of paper most will answer that the corner is torn. They don't answer that 99% of it is fine. That it still has a perfectly good writing surface or that it still has three good corners. As humans we tend to only notice the bad and that's pretty normal. But, it's also a choice. We can choose to see all the good that piece of paper has and not focus on that torn corner. Thank you Cliff and the FAS team for all that you do. I've said it before but I'll say it again. Best Guitar related gear I have ever bought!

Technically speaking, Marshall used whatever they had laying around as bright caps back in the day, plus the sonic differences between 4700pf and 5000pf bright caps are extremely marginal to say the least, so, they're both historically correct LOL!
Both within 20% tolerance so there is real variability there too as old components didn’t have super tight tolerances, tweak it for the best sound I suppose

Yes nothing special, just that sometimes it is so obvious that it is hard to not say it, specially in a beta time where feedbacks are important. It took me 10 seconds in my silver channel 3 preset to see that something is broken…and I’m sure it is obvious to anyone that try it.
At the same time managing all these amps is a mad work, and it is super impressive to be able to do that. The product is great … but if no one say nothing, amps will stay with « problems » to the further customers and that’s maybe not a good idea.

Concerning the component thing … yeah ok you can have a mini difference in the tone, but the base is here . A recto it’s a recto, a Marshall it’s a Marshall … that’s not the 0,1% change in the high or gain knob that make it completely different. I’m still waiting for a/b test with 4 same heads with same settings.

cept a beeta's purpose is to find / hilight (in detail with examples and not too much repetition), the torn bits that may needs fixing (as oposed to hilighting each working element of the other 99%).

It would only take a few posts to point out that torn corner. (like you said) That piece of paper has been lit on fire and is nothing but ashes at this point.

You know, my Fart Tone now sounds broken. It used to sound like a full yet tight expansive fart. Now it sounds (and feels) like a wet acrid shart (Uh... I'd better check my drawers).

EDIT: By bad, I ate something different last night and that seems to have affected my flattulence!

Here's a clip of Herbie 3 that hopefully illustrates what I'm talking about- gain and eq knobs at noon, everything else at default values. Using one of the stock Diezel 4x12 IRs, the 121 I think. It just seems flubby and fuzzed out in a way it didn't before. I want to say there's more gain than before- I used to run a TS boost into it to tighten things up even more but if I do that now it just becomes unusable. But that might just be my ears telling me something when the hardware is actually doing something different.

I will say , this sounds exactly like the 1st experience I had with a diezel amp. It was a amp search I had youtubed and read forums, flipped amps to finally land a diezel..it was the Hagan, and that is the closest clip I have heard as to what it sounded like playing one in person. It had a very distinctive low end type distortion I will never be able to explain, it sounded fizzy to my ears, was how I tried to explain it. However that isn't the correct term. Fizzy could mean shrill with fizz..I emailed Peter Diezel and asked for help. He emailed me a mod to try to reduce some of the low end. It helped. Diezel amps are second to none but they have a very very distinctive low end sound. Very compressed with tons of gain and bass. Not a blanketed muffled sound by any means. It is very rich and very tight, however it is not a midrange type marshally or fender vox, nothing can describe. It is meant for low end was my findings. Superbly built, they have a recognizable voice that can be misleading in videos and clips. That's the closet diezel sound I've heard yet as to what the amp truly sounds like with little tweaking and mixing. Ymmv

And this is the reason, we and the fractal community does need pestle like you!

And yes it’s very hard for Cliff and the team to check all amplifiers, drives etc.
Thank you Cliff and all at Fractal!

Constructive criticism is always good to improve a product.
Witze the Axe we do have the best unit available and everyone should also thankful of that and the fact that Cliff never stops with his work.

And at this point I can also fully understand Cliff, spending hours and hours in development and improving things day by day, again and again.
