We need more information.to clarify, I clamped the neck straight and adjusted the truss (which was no longer seized). you're correct, my approach is useless if the truss rod itself is broken.

IT is stripped 100%. Why "reputable" Toronto guitar service shops avoid trying to fix - not absolutely sure. It must be that truss rod is brokenWe need more information
I just sent him an email as it is Sunday and tomorrow is statutory holiday here... I do not want to call people like thatListen...before you ship it out....If you want it fixed the right way, send it over to Fred Gabrsek in Niagara on the Lake. Freddy's Frets is amazing. He does all the repairs for Alex Lifeson's guitars.
Let him have a look at it first....His work is impeccable. I won't take my guitars anywhere else.

Call him!
to start of on a wrong foot.... I will wait for Tuesday to make the phone call.Nut or the rod stripped? Broken? is the rod loose in the neck? does the rod rotate? is the anchor no longer fixed? All these answers can lead to very different fixes, some easy some not so.IT is stripped 100%. Why "reputable" Toronto guitar service shops avoid trying to fix - not absolutely sure. They say: stripped and the rod won't rotate (I did not go further into details as I am not sure if the rod is not rotating because it is stripped or it really does not move). I got so disappointed and angry (but I kept angriness inside of me) as these guys claim so many different guitar repairing skills on their websites.Nut or the rod stripped? I shipped it out to Freddy from Freddy's Frets. I will let you know how it goes. He sounds like a nice guyWhichever way you go I hope this works out for you. That's a cool guitar,
I may not have the best pictures now... Guitar is on they to the service shop, but I have these pictures. They are not really helpful.@Alek any pictures you can share of the neck?

I will hear the details soon. I hope that it won't get to the big job... but it probably will.Stripped rod is not won't rotate. They mean the nut is stripped and can't be rotated . If this is the case you need to get a tool that can unscrew it and see if the rod is intact (only if it is a single rod.) You won't be able to remove it if it is a two way rod though. Then you are in to a big job.

Yes. It was complicated to fix, too. They (Jackson) originally used some sort of epoxy glue to put fretboard and neck together... So regular heating method of removing fretboard to replace it, did not work. But Freddy is the guy. And it sounds and looks great! I am happy as a small kid now.Glad it worked out in the end!
. I still hate the guy that sold me the guitar with destroyed truss rod. I just don't understand how someone can do something like that and then deny it later. But anyway, the guitar rocks again.
That's a gorgeous fret board! Do you just get used to not having markers on top? (Or do you know the wood grain well enough? lol)
. This is good enough. It would be a shame to put anything else on such beatful fretboard. Pictures I take are bad, too. It looks even better "live" lol.
