That being said, I do notice more of a difference between 15/16 through my passives, but that's just because I generally find all actives equally bland sounding, and probably didn't use them enough to make an assessment.

I recommend Bare Knuckle Black Hawks. All the active clarity without the clinical sound actives are notorious for, and no batteries required. Getting a new pair loaded into my new ESP E-II Eclipse soon. Then I can use the battery cavity with the Graphtech Ghost bridge.

Hell yes! I have a set of Juggernauts and Nailbombs that are both extremely clear and tight, as BKPs are known for. It's hard to go back to pretty much anything after BKPs.

I like to play a lot of different genres including plenty of metal. There's no going back for me. All hail Cygnus!

I used the Factory 5153/57A IR with my LP (stock pups) and wow...not only was the chug there but the feel was extremely tight. Add the T808 OD in front with drive set to 0 and tone set to approx 7. Both the Input Drive and Overdrive on both amps were set to approx 2 O'Clock but all other settings were left at their defaults. Thanks Cliff.

I ve been playing with cygnus with yamaha hs80m s and akg k702 headphones for the last 3-4 days now. Yeah a lot of free time for airline pilots nowadays🧑‍✈️. Very happy with the lower to mid gain amp blocks. Sounds richer around the bottom end. There is kind of a warmth to them which I really like. Amp in the room "body" definetly more present.
Though I wasnt super happy with my high gain presets. I tweaked them for a while (amp, cab, eq etc.) however the sound was less articulate for the fast percussive picking stuff. (Obviously playing with verified amps) Definition and separation wasnt as good maybe. Kind of like the frequencies that I would eq out around 250hz and below were more present. It was a little harder to play fast I would say. I dont know maybe my ears went fatigue after a while. I mean open chords or mid tempo riffs sounds amazing. Maybe I couldnt dial the presets enough to where I want them to be. I still consider myself noob with the unit.
Anyway decided to downgrade back 15.01. Immediately they sounded crispier and quicker on their feet as I dialed them. I guess I ll stay with Ares for a while longer until the official thing comes out. It was a great experience though.

I don’t have a clue of what I’m doing with reaper.. kind of just diving in, hitting buttons, and making some noise.. I don’t have the ability to share links yet I don’t think. I tried to put a sound cloud link in this message but it won’t let me.. unless I’m doing it wrong lol .. just some chugs for the metal fans..

I totally agree with this . Only you can decide . I am just waiting the final one . Because yes , tweaks take me a lot of time and don’t want to try something unfinished , work on it , and then redo everything if the final is different . Can we have a approx delay ? I don’t want to press at all , I can wait months 😅.
