FM3 General Discussion Thread

It indeed does, but I'm getting an FM3 to travel EXTREMELY LIGHT. Attaching an FC6 defeats that purpose.

I'm on the same page... I even have a POD HD500 that I could use as a midi controller... but I hate carrying stuff to the small gigs we play. FM3 format is perfect for me and I will make the 3 switches work for me no problem... I've been using a fly rig rk5 2 for the last couple of years so there's nothing I will be missing footswitch-y

Yeah i know except it's way too expensive and way too big. I'm looking for compact and light. A 2 button switch box is like less than half a pound and maybe 4" wide by 2" deep and $20, and fully works like the onboard buttons. Can't beat that. If Fractal came out with a much smaller 3 button extension unit for a reasonable price, I might consider that, assuming it was actually small and light.
I got this: https://reverb.com/item/16769016-ne...switch-pedal-for-kemper-amp-and-other-effects
It works great for me on my fc12 and my buddy using this - both connected to my III - for our gigs until his FM3 ships :)

That is pretty cool - dimensions of that are 4.72 x 3.71 x 1.33 inches. I have two 2 button units (separate), If I tape then together I get dimensions 3.5" x 3" x 1.25" which is even smaller for $45 total. Pretty similar though. I would assume similar weight as well (super light).

Yeah, it's really light

With great lightness comes great responsibility. The FM3 is remarkably flexible. I'm sure you'll find a way to make it work.

Yeah. I think with the external switches and expression pedal acting like a switch if needed, I'm sure it'll be fine. I'll make sure as soon as the manual becomes available (after the first unit is shipped / received). :)

So what you are saying is that you can plug in an expression pedals and depending on the preset, you can have it act like an expression pedal OR it can act like a switch - toe down on and toe up off (or within some range). Is that true? i.e. this can be programmed per preset without doing anything else except change presets?
I do this now on the AX8. IIRC, when you program the Bypass to an Exp pedal, it switches on/off at 50%. Of course, you have to remember to move the pedal back to where you want it (heel down in my case) when you switch to the next preset/etc.

Good to hear. I've got it in my Watch list for when I get an FC...

Speaking of Mission, I have one of these, and they should work nicely with the FM3...

I am using two of these with my FC6 and Axe Fx 3.

One set of switches is used for Presets up/down the other selects tuner and scenes/effects. (see pic below)

Also I plan on using similar setup with the FM3.

Below is my concept layout if I change over to the FM3.

Also have found two wheeled cases that will work.

Softcase for local gigs.

This thread has me wondering if I even need an FC 6 to go with the FM3. For $27 I chan change presets/scenes and use the 3 buttons on the FM3 fir turning FX on and off.
Hmmmm.
