Question: if I'm on 2.04 and have dyn presence set higher than default, what should I do in fw3? Set dyn pres accordingly and leave xfrm grind at default?

I think yes to replicate what you have now.

If you were on the beta and were using the "changed" dyn presence to add xfrmr grind, you would need to make note of your setting, then set the FW3.0
xfrmr grind to that same value.

In FW3.0 dyn presence is the same as 2.04.
 
...could this be an AE isn't updated thing?

Loaded Q3, opened AE, amp block has no basic parameters.
