I’m not sure if this post is necessary, and/or appropriate here, but let me start with that I’m a long time admirer and supporter of Cliff and his achievement. I was an early adopter of the first gen ULTRA and currently have an Axe-Fx II. So I have absolutely no intention to troll around...

Creamy High Gain

Inspired by Raca's block layout, here is a preset I really like. I have very cheap amplification, so there is a chance it doesn't translate well to other setups. A firmware >= v1.05 is required. Only stock cabs. Have fun! :mrgreen UPDATED :)

Global amp gain is +/-12dB Input trim is 0.1 - 10.0 How to translate between the two?

Axe-Fx II + Linux = ?

Any success stories? I'm still on the waiting list. :) I hope I'll be able to use the USB streaming feature. Maybe editor with wine. I just looked: Reaper seems to work with wine... PS: feel free to move the thread to the Lounge if it is not okay here.

Genius 1250X "studio monitors" :)

A quick tip if you are looking for a cheap, nice sounding speaker: It is a Genius (don't laugh) 1250X. Now it is not in production anymore, but I seriously recommend to grab a used pair if you can. I have bought mine new, for less than 40 euros. WOW! Beleive me - well maybe my ears are...

GFS pickups

I just want to give a heads up on GFS pickups. I've just ordered a Vintage 59 neck humbucker, and I'm really really liking it. They are cheap, probably made in China but personally I don't care. I have tried lots of pickups before, and I think these compare to the much more expensive humbuckers...

Bypass tonal differences

Can somebody explain me why an empty preset (all shunts) sounds different than simply pressing the Bypass button on the Axe-Fx? (i tried the search, but haven't found anything - sorry if this was discussed a lot)

Hi! I have been using the: amidi -p hw:1,0,0 -s command to send sysex files to my Axe. But lately something has changed. I can not load presets and cabinet impulse files. The LEDs are blinking, but nothing updates in the Axe. I'm using the 10.02 firmware, and the latest Ubuntu. PS: I can start...
