Yikes!

When a unit won't boot normally, this knowledgebase article contains information that may help. (This is also in the Owner's Manual under 'Troubleshooting')

Someone else mentioned a complete factory reset. That might be extreme, but here are the steps:

Reset System Parameters is a less extreme measure.

Right. When I put 2 and 2 together, the problems became worse with subsequent firmware upgrades. I find it hard to believe that's the cause, but maybe it is a memory issue. My FM3 get stuck performing the memory check.

I think so, I have reverted to the previous firmware and it’s working correctly for me now. I’m in the process of reducing the memory usage of my patches.

Component failure on the board just after the USB port. Huh...

Well, $125 plus my $14 cost to ship it to them and I'll be getting back in a few days...

Still worth it, and it definitely beats $500 for a full new main board.

So get this now... I'm playing through my FM3 for a bit, and boom, right away, it starts freezing up again. Just got it back on the 21st. Only played a few times. Plugged into a good UPS with a fresh battery. This is really frustrating. And yes, I've contacted support.

Anyone else have an issue with their FM3 to this degree?

Making me think the power outage (which was quite a while ago) didn't cause any harm.
