I have a rack mixing rig that's setup with XLR panels to interface with the mixer. On some gigs, I'd like to be able to connect an external snake (instead of using the XLR panels) without having to disconnect anything in the rack.
My thinking is that I could mount one of these (an Elco connector):
It's basically just adding a disconnect-able Y split in the middle of a 16ch snake.
My concern is with the unused "leg" (the rack's XLR panel) that will still be in each signal path when an external snake is connected. Should I be worried about noise or any other issues?
