Wah/expression pedal not responding first part of the sweep?

I have a wah pedal that has been converted to a expression pedal, but not by myself ( or else I wouldn't be asking this question hehe ). Anyway, I connect the pedal to my Axess FX1, and I use it to control the wah in the Axe-FX. Only trouble is, the pedal is unresponsive the first part of the sweep. When I calibrate the pedal with my FX1, it hits 0 before the heel is done, no matter what I do. I tried connectiong the pedal directly to the Axe-FX, same thing. As far as I can remember, the pedal has always been this way.

Is there anything I can do? I know it's normal for pots to be "dead" the first part of their sweep, so maybe I can change so that the travel of the pedal, is on a slightly different part of the sweep of the pot? Any other suggestions?

Thanks!
Tony :)

Remove the bottom of the pedal.
Loosen the screw holding the white gear tensioner.
Carefully pull the rack gear back from the pinion (on the pot) and turn the pinion ONE gear tooth.
Push the rack back onto the pinion, and tighten the screw down.
If it gets worse, then you turned the pot the wrong direction.
Repeat the above steps but turn the pot 2 teeth the other way.

Thanks very much! I hope that will do the trick!
