Wah and Volume Pedal

I only bought one EV-1 to keep the overall size of the rig small. I hardly ever use a wah, so the EV-1 will serve 90% of its time as a volume pedal.

Is there a way for the EV-1 to defualt to a volume pedal in every preset that doesn't have a wah block and, conversely, to default from a volume pedal to a wah if there is a wah block?

I've tried and can't seem to figure out a way to do this.

Not sure if this will fit, but if you don't ever have the wah and volume in the same preset you can assign them both the same CC number and assign that to the pedal. I don't do that but I am pretty sure it's possible.

They'd never be in the same preset. What's a CC number?

Presently the only way to do this is to put a volume block and every preset without wah.
