Using the Axe as a stand alone effects processor (Guitar)

Hi all.

I use the Axe (ultra) at moment for recording. But at needing a stand alone effects unit for my rack. Seeming I already have the unit Im thinking of puting the unit in a loop of the RG-16 (staying away from the 4CM) and running the signal through mostly reverb and delay/s.

Has anybody done similar? I was going to use the front input to the the rear mono output of the Axe..(this right?)

any ideas be great :)
