Updating from firmware 17.03 to Ares

I have an AF2 mark 1. Running firmware 17.03. It works great and I'm happy with the sounds.
But there are some presets that I'd like to try that were written for ARES 2.0.

Will those even load on my current firmware? ( I don't mind tweaking afterward).


What should I watch for if I update?
Do I need to load Quantum first as a bridge to ARES?

Is there a way to revert back if it doesn't work out?
 
Presets saved on a newer Firmware will not run on older firmware.

They will appear as "empty".

Before loading Ares take a full backup including system settings and presets.

If you want to revert back you would need to also have the firmware file for the version you're on.

To revert just reload the old firmware.

If you made any preset changes that you saved on Ares then you'd also need to restore those after reverting.

Each firmware is "standalone". You don't need to load any other versions.
