Hi guys looking for cables for expression pedal(s) to MFC..... would like right angles and short .
What lengths are you guys using and what brands? ;)

Mine are about 3' long. I ended up making my own because the ones I found were either junk or much more costly than I wanted to pay.

I bought 6ft Hosa TRS wires on Amazon for about $5 each and then some right angle TRS plugs. Cut the Hosa to make two wires and solder the RA jacks on.

If you have soldering skills:

And for good measure, some of this: http://www.redco.com/shopexd.asp?id=418

Generally, I prefer Neutrik connectors for everything that I can use them on. The strain relief on them is better than the Amphenol connectors I listed, but they're 2-3 times as much. Normally I consider it worth it, but for this application I decided to go a little cheaper. With a good crimp and heat shrink over the whole thing, I'm pretty comfortable that they'll last. Especially now that I've got a pedalboard for it all -- they don't really take any abuse. If I had my pedals separate on stage and unplugged/replugged regularly, I might have gone up to the Neutriks, but even with that I think the Amphenols would be fine as long as you crimp them well. They're heavy duty, they just don't use the chuck style strain relief that I consider superior.

If you're not comfortable soldering, this should be a good choice, though I haven't personally used it: http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/CSS103R

Bottom line -- all you really care about here is durability. Assuming you've bought a properly wired TRS cable, it will work. It's not carrying audio. It literally is just an extension cord for a potentiometer. As long as it's wired properly to begin with, it either works perfectly or it doesn't work at all. No cable will be any better than any other cable that works. But of course, build quality is a factor. You want it to stay properly wired over time. As long as you're not trying to pick up the expression pedal by the cable and swing it around your head, I think the Hosa should last. And they're cheap enough to keep a spare or two around.
